The new Arctic Monkeys album, "Suck It And See".
Any of the Kings of Leon albums after "Aha Shake Heartbreak", those dudes used to rock.
The new Radiohead album, "King of Limbs", was disappointing.
Newest Arcade Fire album, "The suburbs", also disappointing.
Daft Punk's "Tron" soundtrack, not that it was bad, just that it took time away that they could have been working on a DP album.
The newest Gorillaz album, "Plastic Beach", was a huge letdown besides "Stylo".
I gotta disagree with you on a few times there my friend.
1. I loved Because of the Times. That and Aha Shake Heartbreak are my two favourite KOL albums.
2. Arcade Fire's The Suburbs was just incredible and phenomenal to me. I saw them live last night (for the fourth time) and I don't dislike a single song.
3. Tron Legacy, great film soundtrack (especially for Tron) but not as a Daft Punk album itself. Doesn't hold up, but good in it's own right.
4. Gorillaz: The Fall was so much worse. SO MUCH WORSE. I enjoyed Plastic Beach, though I thought it was the weakest out of the 3. So I guess yeah, it disappointed.
5. King of Limbs disappointed me somewhat, but I don't think it was a bad album.

For my own opinions, most of Bob Dylan's latest stuff. Oh dear oh dear.
I shall retort in a list setup because I enjoyed your list:
1. Albums don't have to be bad to disappoint, just not live up to expectations. (King of Limbs)
2. The Fall doesn't count. Made by Damon on an iPad. But yes, it sucks.
3. The Suburbs is a good album, but it's disappointing in the same way that Neon Bible is; they'll never make another Funeral!! That album is fucking incredible. It's epic in the same way that the Strokes first album is, they cannot be matched.
4. I agree with you about Tron, but come on, they could have made a new Discovery instead!!! The fact that they made it disappointed me, but it does go well with the flick (bad movie, btw)
5. Of course Dylan's latest stuff is gonna suck, he's like 100 years old. You don't really think Jimi would still be ripping new Voodoo Chiles if he was still alive, do you?

I don't mean any of that in a flamey way, just my opinions on things.
I agree almost entirely mate! Except for Arcade Fire. They're pretty much my favourite band. I may be a little bit biased! Wanna say though, you have a most excellent taste in music.

The poster I'm quoting took mine, so I have to dig deep...
Sufjan Stevens' The Age of Adz is full of ho-hum tracks. He shifted his style a great deal, and while I loved his take on "You Are the Blood" on the Dark Was the Night compilation, he fails to move me in any of the tracks on his latest album.

Both Raveonettes albums after Lust Lust Lust has been pretty uninteresting.

And MGMT's Congratulations is similarly dull compared to Oracular Spectacular.

I'll agree on the first two. The last two Arctic Monkeys albums haven't been very good (but they'll always have those Your Favourite Worst Nightmare and Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. And King of Limbs is the first Radiohead album I've hated.

I do like The Suburbs, though. Though some live performances of theirs I've heard nearly ruined some of those songs. They just can't sing without the aid of the studio. But whatever, it sounds great on record to me.

I actually love Bob Dylan's last few albums. I think he's aged gracefully (he and Tom Waits: two of a kind. Though "graceful" has never been a good word to describe Waits...).

But Dylan's voice is so comforting now. And the musicianship on his albums is also great. He's fallen off lyrically, but I still really think he's a great artist today. I certainly think he's better than he was in the late 70's (starting with Street Legal) until he finally rebounded with World Gone Wrong in '93. 80's Dylan was just...not good. At least not to me.

The album that destroyed me when I was younger was "The Open Door" by Evanescence. I loved Fallen, but when Ben Moody left the band, he took the band with him.

The latest disappointment for me was Hollywood Undead's "American Tragedy". I got that album for free (not pirated, or burnt. Promotional thing. I was stoked). I hated it so much, I deleted it from my computer. I didn't even want the thing supported on my laptop. It is absolutely terrible.

Those are the first two that come to mind. Obviously, I've had a number of others (I listen to way to much music to not have more), but those are the big ones.

Well, "Dark Passion Play" by Nightwish could count. Not that its a bad album, I just prefer old Nightwish, and wanted more stuff like that. I do love DPP still.

And Sonata Arctica's "Days of Gray" kind of let me down. Not because it was a bad album, but because "Unia" is my favorite album ever, and "Days of Gray" went back to the more power metal stuff and abandoned the progressive metal of "Unia".

Okay, I'm cutting myself off now.

Appeal to Reason, Rise Against's 5th album was sort of disappointing, it has some songs I really like on it, but I think it is their weakest album so far. I thought their newest album Endgame, was better overall.

the white album. it's quite good, but it's not the great Beatles masterpiece that it's often made out to be

Then again, I can't say they "Pulled an In Flames on Us". That band fits this discussion to a tee. What a way to abandon your genre, sound, and fanbase.
I actually don't mind In Flames current style. Granted it's no where near as good as before (The Jester Race, Whoracle, and Colony are just amazing), but Come Clarity and Sounds of a Playground Fading are good albums.

OT: Albums that disappointed me. Let's see.

Disturbed's newest album Asylum was a big one. I've never felt let down by any of their albums until this one.

Slipknot's All Hope is Gone. They spent have the album sounding like shit and the other half sounding like Stone Sour. Hey, Corey Taylor, if I wanted to listen to Stone Sour I'd listen to Stone Sour. Keep your bands seperated. That's why you have multiple bands in the first damn place.

The Strokes "Angles"

It was probably only a big disappointment because I let the first single, Under Cover of Darkness, tricking me into thinking this was going to be another "Is This It"

The masterpiece? No. Because they released five masterpieces (Rubber Soul, The White Album, Revolver, Abbey Road, and The Magical Mystery Tour) that all had varying sounds. I don't know which is my favorite (it's between Rubber Soul and The Magical Mystery Tour), but asking five people what the best Beatles album is will yield you twelve answers.

Lupe fiasco's Lasers.

He was a really unique artist with an interesting delivery in his first to albums, but the newest one was just him using the same tired delivery of all the crap hip hop artists.

People have been saying plastic beach, and initially I was disappointed but it grew on me. Now I like it a lot.

Lungs by Florence and the Machine was a pleasant surprise, became an instant favourite.

Black Clouds and Silver Linings - Dream Theater

It wasn't a terrible album by any means but it wasn't as good as the previous ones.

The second Swashbuckle album, the third Alestorm album, the Wrath album by LOG and the second self-titled KsE album. Maybe a couple more, can't remember.

its not bad its just not awesome.
Agreed, but for the fact that the singing change is awesome. I'm no great fan of opera and that's where Tarja belongs. Annette FTW.

A thousand splendid suns by linkin park was utter shit. used to like linkin park but never again.
Oh sweet Jesus yes. With the exception of Leave Out All The Rest, which sits resolutely behind Breaking the Habit as my favourite LP song, that album was awful.

To completely switch genres, I can list a few female singers that I used to like before they decided to completely switch tracks. Avril Lavigne was awesome before she dyed her hair blond and attempted to go punk, and I still maintain there was nothing wrong with Britney Spears' first two albums.

Oh yeah, and the Barenaked Ladies new one, All In Good Time, can go fuck itself. I like Ed's voice better than Steven's, but since Page's departure, all the quirky spark that made me love them is gone.

EDIT: You know what, I've got more.

Meat Loaf's third Bat Out of Hell was by no means bad, but nowhere near the caliber of Bat Out of Hell II. I blame his fight with Steinman.

Rise Against's brand new album, Endgame, has two decent songs and the rest are meh. Every other album of theirs had at least one I fucking loved. Well, maybe not the first album, but everything since.

Ever since Easily Amused changed their name to Keith and Renee (one member of whom I know personally), their sound has taken a direction change I just flat out don't like

There. That'll do.

Emotive by APC. Terrible album, only 2 good songs and an ok one. (passive, imgine and anihilation).

Most NIN albums, they have goodsongs, but lots I dont like.

Indestructible by disturbed. Maybe I jsut went off disturbe but I just hated it. (only disturbed album I bought, definately the last)

Trivium Shogun was bad, I didnt like the new sound...
I completely agree

Emotive wasn't any good (apart from passive, imagine and anihilation)

and while NIN has done a lot of good song, ghost I-IV was crap.

and if I must bring it up 10,000 days was not as good as Aenima,
that's not to say it was bad... but it just wasnt as good as its predecessors.

but it was still amazing

Any album by Weezer past Pinkerton. Its all down the shitter from there. Also, AB III by Alter Bridge. Its a good album don't get me wrong, but as epic as BlackBird was for me. AB III just seems wanting.

I will admit I USED TO like Avenged Sevenfold, keyword "USED TO". Until I heard their shitty ass cover of walk by Pantera. Its like Chinese Democracy Guns N' Roses Bad.
