sort of. Tim burtons blend of wonderous scenery and creatures mixed with his dark way of designing things fits here better than anything else and dare I say it, I found better than avatars visuals. That's just it though, it was visual, and if it stuck to the usual alice in wonderland plot, that is to say, nonsencical encounter after encounter, it would have been perfect, and trying to crowbar a story in, let alone trying to have Depp or Hathaway constantly take centre stage does nothing but diminish the finished article. Were it not for Steven Fry's voice soothing me throughout, I would have been extremely annoyed by it, but as it stands, it was an alright film, better than many fantasy flims (Twilight being the main culprite), but was ultimately let down by its' own ambition. Also, what was the point of having Christopher Lee in it if you,re going to cut his tongue out after 2 lines of dialogue!?
