Alien asks you to prove humanity is worth saving

I couldn't... Anything I said would be a lie as I personally don't feel humanity, in its current state, is worth saving.

Stop being so gorram selfish. You're a part of humanity, surely you consider yourself 'worth saving'? If the answer is yes, then you by default consider the rest worth saving. No two ways about it.

And if I don't concider myself worth saving? What exactly has my life to offer? I sit around in my free time, I have no career (though I work in a grocery store), I have no other-half. I've done nothing in my life that will ever be concidered as "great", let alone anything worth recording in an alien history book.
That's just my life though. While it's true that there are a lot of people in our history who are seen as brilliant or the like, what exactly makes them so great to an alien civilization?

What do you say/do?

You've all probably seen movie/game (coughgreenlanterndaytheearthstoodstillcough) where aliens debate on whether they should commit to sparing/saving Earth.

I figure this is probably a difficult question for pessemistics.

What "Saving" or "Sparing"?

If they came to earth to kill/exploit/enslave us then that'll be a hard sell as we've been doing it to each other since... well there was never an era we didn't do it.

But if it is "save" as in the Aliens save us from doom such as:
-asteroid hurtling towards earth
-global warming cooking the planet
-other alien civilisation attacking us
-nearby supernova

Then that might be possible as we can make the case that we should be saved - even though at huge costs to them - because we would do the same if we could. Why? Because as intelligent beings we must know more about the universe and if Earth is destroyed, so much history, experience, perspective and insight would be wiped out. So to for their planet/civilisation.
