Yeah, it turns out I'm clear for everything except possibly the processor. Can't hurt to try.Treblaine said:(if you CAN run Lost Planet, you should manage with a top down shooter like this)FinalHeart95 said:I'm actually downloading Steam for this because:
1) It's free
2) I'm really FUCKING BORED
I just hope my computer can run the damn thing. I can barely run Lost Planet on this thing.
Looks like Valve has proven there is no better publicity than handing out free stuff. I mean, what else would it have taken for you to give Steam a go?
I have, the AI teammates are ok up until a point where all of mine just decided to rush the enemies by themselves, I died shortly after.dfcrackhead said:It has an offline "practice" mode, but I haven't tried it yetthenumberthirteen said:Downloading it now at 800-900kb/s probably won't get to play it until tomorrow. Is it an online only game like TF2 or does it have an offline mode as well like L4D?
Tell you the truth, I've hated the parasites since the original Alien Swarm mod. I'm also my teams designated medic, so I'm the one who has to heal people. Trust me, it sucked when you had to use multiple charges to get a single parasite out of a member, so I am loving the new area heal they've added!dfcrackhead said:Game hasn't even been out a day and I've already got rage on it.
There's an enemy called "Parasite", they latch on and infect you. ONly way to survive is to be healed by the team medic. My team medic is smart, they ran away from the entire team and I got infected. As I called for medic I saw that he/she was nowhere to be found. I died, then the medic got infected and died, then the rest of the team followed suit.
How has your first experience with Alien Swarm been so far?
As far as I could tell from my romp though offline practice, all the info for the relevant item you have equipped is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen, which means that you'll have to equip the med-satchel or ammo-bag to see how many charges are left in it.onewheeled999 said:I think you guys will like the game.
It seems like a 3rd person, slower paced Left 4 Dead to me, but still very frantic and intense. I only played a single round of Offline Practice, and with that I noticed a couple little problems.
Each class has their own special perk, like distributing ammo or creating a healing area. The only problem is, I can't see any gauge or number saying how many of those you have left. So in the first half of the level, I used up all the ammo cases, and had to just hope there was ammo lying around somewhere. Also, the objectives don't seem clear enough to me, I missed a major objective where you have to "download data" from a computer, and got all the way to the end of the level, only to not complete the mission. I couldn't go back, since I was out of ammo, so I was screwed.
It's still tons of fun though, you guys will enjoy it, no doubt.
Me and my friends played the original on every single LAN we've ever had, and we still haven't had a single game that didn't involve some kind of friendly fire. Sometimes literally, since I have kind of a fetish for the flamethrower!ProfessorLayton said:My experience has been great. The biggest challenge I've found is trying not to shoot my teammates, though I recently got an achievement for having all four players not have a friendly fire incident and I was honestly surprised.
The game is fantastic, though, especially considering it was free. Took a while to download, though, but anyone having connection problems just give it a while and it will be all worth it.
God dammit, man. Don't say that.Korten12 said:beat the game!
Best way to survive is to use a medkit. I agree though, those are the worse things in the game.dfcrackhead said:ONly way to survive is to be healed by the team medic.
