Ugh, I've known a similar reasoning which is just as messed up: `All men cheat, so I can cheat, all men cheat they're just better at it so if you don't think they're cheating you're wrong.`.
Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeugh.

The reason I bring it up is because I'm sure people convince themselves of both of these things so they can feel like they are ahead of the game and they wont be fooled like everyone else. As in- all men cheat so I'm not really doing a bad thing by cheating on/with someone.
A way to protect themselves from getting hurt and excuse their shitty behaviour at the same time.

I've never cheated or been cheated on (been accused of cheating but that was bullshit).
I always think, if you are unhappy enough to cheat, you are unhappy enough to leave. So why not just leave?
Seems cowardly (Oh, and don't get me started on the people who go `Oh, yeah, it's terrible of me. I'm so awful. I'm gonna do it some more`- I do not cater to pity parties).

Does make me think, though- who do we consider worse?
The cheater (one in the relationship) or the cheatee (one they cheat with)?
I'd always blame the cheater more, because they made the commitment, but a lot of people just go for the cheatee.
Pretty much this, in a nutshell.

I have an addendum to this, which is somewhat off-topic but somewhat on-topic as well: Gender is irrelevant in every aspect when you consider that stupidity affects all equally.

That, and I've been cheated on multiple times but I have not gone and cheated on anyone. Greatly considered it, but did not attempt it.

Hi.

I'm Daystar Clarion.

You may know me from such social statuses as 'I've been with the same girl since I was 15', and 'Love is playing Borderlands coop with your significant other, then having sex with her'.

And I didn't cheat in any of them :D

The Daystar is right. REAL men form lasting relationships, or at the very least, don't cheat. Cheating is a pretty damn weak, and regardless of the reason behind it, its wrong. If you form any kind of commitment in an intimate relationship like that, cheating is a betrayal.

... Of course, I feel pretty strongly about it since I've been cheated on, so forgive the vitriol I have over the subject.

I've never cheated on anyone. Granted, most of my 'relationships' are more just short hook-ups with people, but even when I've been a full-blown years-long thing I still didn't. Surely if you aren't happy with who you're with, it's a better idea to just move on or sort things out than fill that hole with uh... holes.
[sub]Does that count as a pun? I think it does.[/sub]

Also yeah, that girl sounds kind of bitchy to me.#
Seeing as this seems to be well established now, I propose a new question:

If your girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband/sex robot/other offered you a 'hall pass' IE; a chance to go sleep with someone else without her/him/it having a problem with it - would you take that chance or would you prefer not to?

This woman think she's ahead of the game, huh? Quite the contrary, in fact, I guess you could

say... she lost the game ;).

As a guy, no, I dont cheat. I have been with the same girl for 1 1/2 years now, we plan on getting married when I am done with college, and not having sex until then (thats more personal). Hell, the fact I am faithful to her is one of the things she always brags about and says that that is the reaons she loves me so much. How could I say no to that :3

Every guy cheats? That's some valuable information right there.

The girl seems a bit crazy though, only choosing men who are taken. Can't say I've heard of that one before.

Why does everyone have such a Fillion hard on? Sure, the man is sexy but these gifs are-

Nobody can get their fill of Fillion.

Having enough empathy to recognise when two people are in an unhappy relationship, but not having enough empathy not to exploit that situation for your own selfish benefit isn't some sort of mysterious superpower.

But people might just hold you up as a terrible example of a human being, not that I'm one to be judgmental or anything, I generally leave that up to other people.

Well for every man that cheats there's a girl like the OP knows that's willing to break-up a relationship.

I promis that if I ever got mad at you, I'd only slap you on the bum.

Or I might just do that whenever!

Anyway, I've cheated before, loads of times. Don't even regret it. Righty was boring and just wasn't offering what lefty could.

And how exactly does all men being cheaters make what she does okay? It's not true of course, but even if it were it doesn't really justify being a slut and facilitating it. If she's defending anyone it's the men she sleeps with, not herself.

It's like if the CEO of McDonalds tried to justify selling unhealthy food by saying that all Americans are Obese and unhealthy from fast food.
The problem is widespread, therefore it's okay to encourage more of it?

I loved the first series, especially the ending of it. I know what I'm watching for the next few days.

I remember laughing at it a lot, which is a rare thing for me with the "awkward" style of comedy that it has. Stephen Mangan needs to do/make more stuff, and Matt Leblanc needs to do more stuff as a sad, divorced Matt Leblanc, I actually thought he was amazing in it xD.

I would have to have a girlfriend to cheat...

OT: That is a terrible generalization. I think her reasoning is to say "Others are doing worse than me, so you shouldn't tell me I'm doing bad." so she doesn't have to feel bad about it.

I don't see anything wrong with her attitude. I mean, if she wants to try to have sex with married guys--go for it. More power to her, in fact. If she can seduce a man into cheating, well, that relationship was doomed from the start, right? A guy who's going to cheat is going to cheat eventually. The person who is in a relationship should be the responsible one; they should be the one to say "No." How is it her fault if the married men CHOOSE to have sex with her?

TL;DR: She's doing nothing wrong. It's those in the committed relationship that are in the wrong.

Every human being is capable of every degree of action, of this I am certain, under the right circumstances, every human being could and can be made to perform every action.

Only two type of human beings cheats, those that are callous dickholes and those that are so beaten and downtrodded by their relationship/responsibility they'd do anything to be alive.

You friend simply hasn't met a man that is absolutely in love with his significant other, is all. And she won't, because she's learning to prey of weak relationships.

Also if she's knowing being a homewrecker, towards men that are married, she a ****. If they're not married, then I merely don't care for her actions.
