Here is a bad idea, take the Jaws song and go play it at the ocean beach. People really do not like that.

My vote goes to the music from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain, written by Yann Tiersen.
It's the only soundtrack I ever bothered buying on CD and it always cheers me up.
I was glad when I found sheet music for piano for these songs.

that was bloody amazing... the songs couldn't have fit better if they'd been purposefully written for the watchmen...

I really understand that, like "These times are a changin'" at the very start, it just.. fit

Can you provide any links to this music?

That's what I thought! They were not songs I was expecting, and I was genuinely, and pleasantly, surprised!

Here are my favourites:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WQktihlf0Y&feature=related (this one starts a bit slow, but wait for the piano)

edit: argh, now I MUST see this movie again!
And how could I forget the main theme? Here in a fantastic orchestral version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD3WwM6l1J0

I just saw the back of the Watchmen soundtrack and that has some very good tracks on it. Also the Iron Man soundtrack since it has Iron Man and Back in Black.

Hero and Eragon are my 2 favs.

Eragon kind of sucked as a movie, but the orchestral themes were absolutely incredible.

I can't beleive this hasn't been said yet: Lord of the Rings soundtrack is by far my favorite. Oh and of course Starwars soundtrack is great. Also Hans Zimmer has scored a fair few very good soundtracks for movies including pirates trilogy, Dark Knight and Gladiator.

I don't know about my favorite, but Death Proof, Kill Bill, Cowboy Bebop (either the movie or the series, both are great), Moulin Rouge, Goodfellas, Jackie Brown, and Hero are all up there.

At the moment, however, it's probably a tie between Goodfellas, Jackie Brown and Death Proof.

But yeah, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly has a great soundtrack. I do love that main song. It's one of my favorite movies, although I think Once Upon A Time In America at least comes close to being as great. Together, they're my two favorite Sergio Leone films by a country mile.

Even though the movie was a pile of turds in the rain, I liked the Escape from LA soundtrack. It had Stabbing Westward, Tool, Deftones, Tori Amos and Butthole Surfers. It was great.
