http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duGbgrv9LRE (and that should be the best, it's so magical)

edit: argh, now I MUST see this movie again!
And how could I forget the main theme? Here in a fantastic orchestral version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD3WwM6l1J0[/quote]

Thank you and now I know the movie is Amelie. I should be able to rent that.

It looks like a chick flick. ROOWWEARRGGGGGGG, me and the wife should enjoy, if you know what I mean.

But I really enjoyed Great Balls of Fire in that one. Fun scene for that.

Shitloads really. Amélie (as mentioned already) has an almost magical soundtrack, perfect. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly has a fantastic soundtrack, a real tension setter. Ofcourse we can't miss Star Wars. Ocean's Eleven had an awesome soundtrack too, slick is the best word for it. And almost all Tarantino movies, especially Kill Bill with the best. intro song. EVAH! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnfFTVjRpLI] Probably a dozen other movies as well.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall's soundtrack was pretty rad. It has some hilariously awesome original songs, like the infamous Dracula's Lament and Infant Sorrow's songs.

Hehe, I'm sure you will. It's my favourite movie ever and, last time I checked, I'm not a chick.

On the side, I just found my runner up for best sound track ever: (Tim Burton's) Corpse Bride.

All soundtracks by John Williams are awesome. Jurassic Park and Star Wars first come to mind...
The Godfather is also really good.

And, as several people mentioned before me, I must say that the opening credits of Watchmen with The Times They Are A-Changin' is one of the best uses of music I have ever seen in a film. It was just so fitting. Unfortunately the rest of the film wasn't as good as the opening, just okay...

Seconded

Also Control and 24 hour party people. The fact all three of theese movies contain Love Will Tear us Apart by Joy Division is a complete coincidence.

I know there are more, but I've recently been watching the Lord of the Rings movies and the soundtrack in that is pretty good.

Also there's something to be said for music from Star Wars! Everything from the original title crawl song, which is now legendary to Duel of the Fates in the newer movies were well done.

I absolutely love the soundtrack from Flashdance...

What a feeling!.....

And of course Maniac. And Gloria.

Must get round to buying it sometime.
