Gaz from COD4, Garza from Killzone 2, Dogmeat from Fallout 3.

Garza because he was one of the few people I liked in Killzone 2, Dogmeat because he's a good companion (a bit slow, but whatever) and Gaz because, well, he's Gaz!

I really liked Garrus and Wrex from Mass Effect. Sure, they were pretty shitty in combat if you didn't bother to hold their hands every step of the way (and even then they were at most incompetent), but as characters they were really cool.

There are a lot of contenders, but I think I'll have to go with Elika. She was interesting, added to the story, and kept those annoying birds off of me!

Auron or Rikku from FFX. There was a translation error in KH2. Hades was supposed to introduce Auron as the Mother of All badasses, but he got it wrong. Rikku for being cute and hella useful.
Tali and Liara from Mass Effect for being able to take care of themselves awesomely.

I liked the elites in Halo 2. In Legendary, and properly equipped, they'd whoop that ass non-stop.

Captain Price. In both CoD2 and CoD4. I liked how in 2, if he tried to throw back a grenade, and it exploded in his hand, he was fine. I used him as a meatshield that had an awesome personality, and an awesomer cigar!

Dogmeat from Fallout 3
Fawkes and company were great, but nothing beats an (basically) invincible dog who can fetch things
