I have never played a single game in the Grand Theft Auto series and I plan never to try.

If you're not buying GTA 4 that's up to you... if you see yourself as a gamer thats what you are, you don't need to like what the majority likes to be one or to buy what they buy.... personally I can say I ain't buyin it either, I haven't been a fan of GTA I've preferred the movie spin offs instead like Scarface and Godfather

Who are yo to say these games make some one a gamer? I personally think it is a game worth buying. But I don't play the Final Fantasy games(or any other japanese rpg for that matter) that everyone on this forum seems to think are so great. Does that mean I am not a gamer? I have wasted alot of money if that is the case.

First of all, you should never feel bad for placing priority on schoolwork over gaming. Video games are nice, but being successful is even nicer.

Secondly, you don't have to buy GTAIV to be a gamer. A gamer is just someone who loves and plays video games. That's it.
