Not with those names I wouldn't imagine. If I ever have children I'd like to name them something that isn't common but isn't strange either. Those names seem to fit the bill so they sound good to me.
Exactly. He'll steal from the rich, give to the poor, stand up to the Man and give him what for.Foxblade618 said:Well, if it aint the hero of Canton...Jedoro said:Hey, at least they sound like names. I'm likely gonna name my son Jayne and teach him to be a badass.
Yes that child would need to be tough as nails to have that name. Which, as it sounds, is exactly what you want. I am reminded of the Johnny Cash song "A Boy Named Sue"
Really? I would think people would make fun of "Big Cat" a lot...i mean cat rhymes with a lot of stuff!Big Cat said:I don't think so I have a uncommon name and I have never been made fun of because of my name.
Yeah thats how I am. Jarred has 500 different spellings and my mom picked the single least common one. oh well i love my 2 R'sSariteiya said:The thing is, aside from "teaseable" names, you have to consider whether you're giving your child a name they'll be forced to spell for the rest of their life. This doesn't seem so bad, but I have a name that's not even that unusual, just slightly antiquated, and yet my doctor can't spell it right, and my taxes are all made out to "Andres" (not even close to my actual name). Don't get me wrong, I love my name. It's fairly unique, and it fits me well, but just consider whether or not you're setting your kids up for hardships. The names you've picked seem nice, and if you think the value you put into them outweighs the drawbacks, then go for it. My main beef is with people who name their kid something like Connor but spell it, Khonner. Your kid will have an entire lifetime of spelling out their name to people for no good reason.
Ah yes, that is how his surname was spelled wasn't it? Oh well, I guess it's nice to pay tribute to the dead, however unintentional and indirect.thiosk said:Name your son Billy. Middle name maes.
I am named Kay. I was named after one of the charecters in the dutch nobel "The Ice Queen". I do not see the difference.Golan Trevize said:A: Daddy, where does my name comes from?Foxblade618 said:Yes! B: It comes from a Japanese cartoon I liked a while ago.
Don't do this to your kids, please.
Hughes was awesome indeed. I think those are pretty cool names with no major teasing triggers. My son's name is Malcolm Flynn Hancock. I know he'll catch crap for our last name, since I have, but I think he's got a nice unique name that people should be able to figure out. However, we've already had people spell it Malcom for some reason. I have never seen that spelling in my life.Foxblade618 said:Yes!
