*AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH*
Seriously, if I wanted to know about this shit, I'd still own a television, and I'd watch commercials.
.
ok...why dont people get this? no matter WHAT people complain about, the complainers are MORE annoying
all those things I can downright ignore...in fact I wouldnt know they exisisted had people not gone raging on them
but haters? I cant ignore then they are all over the internet......YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM
You seem to have completely lost the plot of my statement.
My point is that I don't own a tv, and I don't particularly give 2 tinker's damn about a variety of things, and yet, I find that I'm inundated with data concerning a variety of things that are clearly tied to a demographic I do not belong to. I feel I'm justified in stating, every once in a while, that I don't particularly give a fuck about Twilight and Harry Potter, because I don't;
they do not interest me.
I don't hate those things, I just don't give a fuck, and the energy that some people appear to spend on whatever bit of their own, unique bit of their fandom is something I encourage; I have hobbies, so I don't begrudge other people having hobbies. I draw the line at having to listen to the sheer amount of shit people (and the media) seem to need to try and communicate about the latest highly-localized-demographic's new craze.
People don't want to hear about my SCA heavy fighting hobby? The one were I actually go and train so I can travel to tournments, and on occasion, I've travel clear across the North American continent to participate in events? The hobby that actually requires me to be active, and outdoors, and social?
Fine, I don't want to hear about Twilights, Harr Potter, MLP:FiM, Justin Beiber, Hannah Montana, Spongebob or any of the other shit that people seem to believe is worth their time; it might be worth
YOUR time, but it's a waste of mine.
Read the last sentence of the first paragraph of the following link, and then apply it it to every tween fandom of the last 50 years, and you'll understand my position: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/extra-punctuation/9396-Roleplaying-The-Old-Republic
