Honestly, looking at some of the comments here, I can't help but see a bunch of jaded cynics complaining about how far Nintendo has fallen, etc, but to me it really just sounds like a bunch of old fogeys complaining "back in MY day, things were better!"
Am I the only one that actually thinks Nintendo is still doing spectacularly well and still generally makes great games?
Paper Mario: Sticker star was different, yes, but that doesn't make it a bad game. The writing, as always, was enjoyable, and the gameplay, though simplified, was still very enjoyable, and much more well-suited for the portable 3DS as opposed to the more in-depth console titles.
Kid Icarus: Uprising just so happens to be one of my new favorite action games, and despite what other people seem to say, I've never really had much issue with the controls at all. I'd gotten used to holding the stylus while moving with the control pad halfway through the first chapter, and if I was feeling any discomfort, I was having too much fun with the game to notice.
Skyward Sword is now my favorite Zelda game of all time. Yes, even more so than Wind Waker or *gasp* Ocarina of Time. Sure, Fi was annoying sometimes, but like Navi, it's fairly easy to simply ignore her and still have a good time. The game was more linear, but that's arguably what makes it the best in my mind. Instead of exploring vast swaths of empty landscape with little to do, every area of the overworld involved solving puzzles in order to move forward. Dungeons are the best part of any Zelda game, and in Skyward sword every part of the map was a dungeon. The sprint meter made movement much easier and more natural, and the upgrade system gave some extra depth to the standard items. And then there were the motion controls, which unlike many other games before, were responsive, felt natural, and gave an added layer of strategy to defeating even the smallest enemies. And did I mention they were responsive? Unlike many games on the Wii before, Skyward Sword's motion controls worked. It was basically everything that I had imagined from the Wii when it had launched, and that's saying a lot.
