Does it matter? I mean at the end of the day, by the sounds of it you went into the game wanting to hate it, like a lot of people do. That's fine, you don't have to like it. It won't be everyones cup of tea.

But there are a lot of people that do like it, and thats not wrong either. Some people will love the setting, the gameplay and the story. Others won't.

Pointless? probably
Sucks? IDK...

But it'll sell so Microsoft doesn't really care either way.

Actually Rule 1 of the Internet should not even be stated because of itself.

The more popular a game, the more heated the haters will be. Nothing wrong with being a hater of course. Modern Warfare 2, one of the best selling games out there, if not the best selling game, and there is legions of "Escape Heads" (my little nickname for people who post here), who loathe the game. Now for Reach, there are people who have a PS3 and don't see what the fuss is without playing it (fanboys) and people (like you) just don't enjoy the gaming mechanics. Now, I can't personally say if the game is good or not, for I have not played it, my statement is just something that I have noticed over the years.

I don't think it sucks, I just think they could have done better in aspects of the story.

For instance
When your squad mates die one by one. I really didn't care, none of them really inspired any sort of connection. None of them matches up to when Johnson dies at the end of halo 3

I think that Reach wasn't the "Perfect in nearly every way" gem that it was made out as in pre-release. But that doesn't make it bad.

However, I have to say that anybody who hates a game purely for the story (which you're right, wasn't as good as previous installments) needs to seriously get with the times and realise that it's gameplay that counts.

side note; THE FORGE IS SUBLIME NOW! custom games FTW

I think you just proved that people who havent played the game DO have an opinion :)

I'm by no means a big Halo fan but this game is tickling my fancy. Haven't had this much fun with Halo since the first one.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to bother arguing back, the facts here are..

Yes, you are entitled to your own opinion, congratulations, you are exercising your freedom of speech, 2 points for you.

Do people want to hear your opinion by simply saying "...sucks", no, they don't.

If you want actual discussion try, "Am I the only one who thinks Halo: Reach didn't live up to expectations?" In which case I would say, yes, the story was lacking ever so slightly in parts since it took me 2 play throughs to actually learn who they all were. However everything else more than makes up for it, tenfold.

Absolutely. You will never, ever find anyone on the internet who dislikes Halo. Absolutely never.

And I respectfully disagree, I think Halo: Reach is great. A lot of fun.

Ah anyway OT: Shush imbecile, Halo's stuck with its old format throughout the years, something i can't say about some other FPS's....

Quote of the year. +1 internet.

OP: I disagreed with pretty much everything you (and Critical Miss, when it came to the "bad" section) said. But others here have said it better than me, so I'll leave the debating-that-shall-descend-into-arguing-and-eventually-flaming to them. ;)

EDIT: I didn't mean you MetroidNut :p.

Attitudes like this are disappointing. We should expect more from developers and have higher standards. Halo 1 had a good campaign, but it's been downhill since then.

It's Halo 3 but better. That's all I can say really. I'm not a huge Halo fan but I find it to have more variety and fun than something like Bad Company 2, though BC2 is pretty epic online.

Not really, I never liked the halo campaign, regardless of which halo. To me halo is just a multiplayer game I'd only play with friends (-> no random matchmaking), similarly I'd only play mario kart with friends.
