I'm enjoying it very much ^^ I'm only 10 hours in mind, but it seems so much less of a grind then the original.

It's awesome, honestly. Can't wait to get back onto it ^^

Quick question.
What's da2?
dragon age 2, have you been under a rock? as has been pointed out by others in this thread, it seems you cant go 2 seconds without seeing another dragon age thread here

also i've just thought of the best thing about DA2... no several hour grindfest deep roads!

EVERY character is bisexual, so you can go FemHawke and still do the girls' romances. Merrill's is the best character arc and romance I've come across in a Bioware game.
I'm having trouble deciding whether that is very silly or very awesome.

Haven't got far in yet, but Merril is easily the best character thus far. Practically every line makes me smile or laugh.

I liked everything about DA2. Everything was +1 except the story, but even then the story was good. The Characters were all well thought out instead of your stereotype Bioware group, and all of them had a nice grimy history, and they brought back some moldy oldies which I didn't mind at all.

Its great and I love it. Not as good as the first, since it took out things I liked. Now I'm not even half way. But it is too Mass Effect like, and I mean that in a good and bad way. Sure the combat is better and fully voiced. But the item , management and the menu are the same ass ME2. I cant change my teams armor? Why the hell not? Also the story in the beginning isnt really interesting, yet so the intro is a bit slow. All in all I love it and no regrets. Its just ME2 with swords.

I do like some of the inventory changes, in me2 they removed wayyyy to much, but i feel they got it right here. as for not being able to change your characters armour, i think the amour is more a part of their character now, its a part of who they are. Also, would you let your friends dress you up?

In act 2 of my first game and so far DA2 and a few points of note:

- Combat feels more tactical because of the limitations placed on mage healing from the first game. The game demands to use higher difficulty to really challenge though. Oddly enough, on higher difficulties, positioning plays an even more important role than it did in DA1 in my opinion. Casters are really squishy and die quickly if you can't keep your party positioned properly.

- Limiting some equipment slots from NPC's really doesn't hurt the game when you still customize them with accessories. The only discouraging limitation is Varric as you can't modify his weapon which is typically the most fun part of a character to manage in these games.

- The changes to the skills are highly welcome. Skill management in DA1 was fine, but it really didn't add any tactics or fun to the game. Essentially you just ensure every character is a master of any given skill you intend to use. In DA2 you don't worry about this management and instead are rewarded by exploring the world to uncover new potion/poison/rune options.

- The games major downside is that it is essentially just 80 sidequests with very few goals to strive for. I'm very much enjoying the experience, but I can see this really hurting the games replay value as well as overall story. I'm in no way drawn into the story like I was in DA:Origins. I'm curious as to what will happen next as a Dragon Age fan...but I could see non-fans simply giving up on the game if they play primarily for story. It is this point as to why I can see the game getting a poor response from gamers. Again, I'm only half way through the game, so it could vastly improve...but even if it does, the pacing has been extremely poor thus far.

For the sake of my argument yes I'd let my friends dress me up. But honestly, I see what Bioware tried to do, since in Origins, in combat you couldnt tell who was who. In the sequel, its so much easier. But I miss the ability to customize my characters,. Thats just me, but like I said this is in no way a bad game its still amazing.

Absolutely not, I don't see what peoples problems with DA2 is. It's like they're opposed to having a better experience and would be content with the same conversation menus with no talking from the hero, completely unbalanced and broken gameplay. And now things actually look good, from an art standpoint, I think I liked how 2 armor sets looked in DA:O the rest were ugly and to boot I think they took some models/textures from N64 games they were so bad.

That said DA1 was still a great game with a great story, it just had some glaring flaws that DA2 makes up for. DA2 just stripped out the useless and polished the game more. It's still not perfect but what is besides Timesplitters?

DA2 was a good game..but it could have been 10 times better..it felt really short in comparison with DAO..i finished it in one continuous play..doing all quests..except the one which you had to gather herbs:|...game lengthening quest:|..and because you get to visit just a hand-full of places 500 fucking times..gets repetitive and annoying..the combat is very similar to DAO just faster..and more fluid..the story is good..your choices really affect the ending..the bad thing about the story in in DAO is that you knew the main plot after playing 10 mins of the game..get mages humans and dwarfs and slay dragon..the rest of the story is nicely told..and just great overall..to be honest i`m eager for an expansion i really want to know how my actions influenced the world..that is all

I'm enjoying it a lot more than DAO.

The inventory interface is much better, the combat is more visceral (and not as 'dumbed down' as some would have you believe, there are still just as many options in combat)

The characters I've met so far aren't quite as likeable to me as Alistair, Morrigan and co but I've only met whining brother and grumpy red-head woman yet.

Really enjoying it so far. I didn't really play the first one, just a bit at a friend's house, so I can't really compare them but as someone who likes more action-based combat as well as epic RPGs it suits me pretty well. The demo was a little underwhelming but I now realise that the beginning is probably the weakest part of the game - with few abilities, the gameplay's a bit simplistic.

As for companion armour, I don't have a problem with the idea itself, so long as the set costumes are put to good use - and I'm not sure they have been. I think it's only Isabella's clothing (or lack thereof xD) that's uniquely personal, and that's being generous. If you're not going to allow the player to change companions' armour then you should give them more special looks - eg. Jack from ME2 is hugely benefited by having a set look which is an insight into her character.

DA2 is much more interesting than DA:O I'm not making that out to be an insult I played DA:O and loved it but it could use some improvement and all the things I wanted improved were pretty much hit spot on by Bioware, taking me a little while to get used to how you access your stuff now though was so used to holding down the button to access the wheel ha ha.

Only one thing has really lost the immersion for me and that was in the place you meet up with ah now this is embarrassing I seem to have forgotten her name... anyway and the guy wouldn't shut the fuck up "Have fun trying to get in I've been waiting all day!" and he kept repeating it again and again I wanted to hit him so damn badly but then I remembered this wasn't TES... =(

You sure it was an insight into her character and not her rack?

I thought the story was a little schizophrenic and the ending was pretty unsatisfying but other then that it was great
