Am I the only one that thinks the usage of the term "it rocks" by modern rap artists who wouldn't know a thing about rock even if jimmy Hendrix Rose from the grave and smashed a guitar around their faces absurd?

I certainly hope not.

Am I the only one confused about Assassin's Creed: Revelations? I thought the next one took place in Greece. Also, is Revelations AC3 or is this a case of GTA-ism where Vice City and San Andreas were both III? If Revelations is just AC2.5 or whatever then how much longer do I have to wait for AC3?

You don't have to serve in the military to see that.

Am I the only one who...

Listen's to "gay-culture" music rather exclusively (but is straight)

like Black Kids, Cut-Copy, the Ting Tings, Sarah and Teagan, and the Sounds...

(the weird part is when I talk to gay people about music and they haven't heard of any of these guys)

True, but I can hardly think of a scenario beyond war where one may be completely bisected by a pound of molten copper traveling at super sonic speeds, or be turned into meat by thousands of pounds by high explosives, or be turned into dust by hundreds of tungsten balls.

Well, maybe the second one, on rare occasions.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. Only that a soldier is more likely to see such things.

I can assure you that firefighters, ambulance officers and highway police see just as many pieces of horrific gore as soldiers do. Different circumstances yes, but I do find it a little bit offensive to imply that only soldiers are the people who have to deal with that and only you and other soldiers would have seen it. I understand you aren't trying to imply that, and I realise you aren't saying that only soldiers have a right to complain about it - it's just something about me I don't like hearing because it makes soldiers seem like these big brave amazing heroes when there are people back home who have to scrape children off the side of the road after being gutted but a piece of metal, or pick up remains of someone who was cut in half during a work place accident or hose down remains of a firefighter who was blown to pieces after a car exploded. Or try to hold back a mother trying to pick up the organs and the head of her son off of a highway where he has just been dragged 100 metres by a truck.

That stuff happens all the time, and people don't give a shit. I'm just saying, you don't have to be a soldier to see that stuff. Trust me. And I don't like it when I see someone implying that only soldiers go through that. My father has seen and had to deal with just as many incidents of obscene brutality as any soldier has.

I apologise for my sensitivity on the issue, and I am not criticising you or the work any soldier does. I understand totally the severity of the work soldiers do, but I'm just reminding people that soldiers aren't the only ones who see blown up people and horrible images.

Nah, thats a pretty standard view point.

Am I the only one who liked Bullet Storm? I mean yeah it was stupid as hell, but the scenary backdrops were gorgeous, the weapons creative, and the plethora of skill shots certainly delivered variety

What are you talking about, exactly?
As a network technician in Iraq, I was sometimes caught working at our base morgue at the wrong times, and was asked to help with bodies. Not actual mortician stuff, but carrying them around and such. I remember the first guy... he was in a body bag. When we carried him, the bag sagged in the middle and sloshed around like it was full of watery mud. I soon found out he had been blown in half by a EFP, but had somehow survived long enough for our hospital to at least attempt to save him. In transit his spine was finally severed and his torso pretty much fell apart in the bag.
Oh.....wow. I.... For whatever it's worth, I'm sorry, man. I'm sorry my thread made you even think about that. I seriously am.
