yes, but more importantly why haven't you? I ordered a world saving half an hour ago and it still hasn't arrived! The Artificially Prolonged said:I am the only one who...

You don't have to serve in the military to see that.AccursedTheory said:I think, since Marine Mike left, I'm one of 2-4 people on this site who's watched a man be blown apart in person
You guys are a dime a dozen on the Escapist, I'm not sure how you'd not encounter others.Harbinger_ said:Am I the only person who

True, but I can hardly think of a scenario beyond war where one may be completely bisected by a pound of molten copper traveling at super sonic speeds, or be turned into meat by thousands of pounds by high explosives, or be turned into dust by hundreds of tungsten balls.SillyBear said:Am I the only one who thinks diet soft drink tastes nicer than normal soft drink?

No. But keep it a secret...Necromancer Jim said:Am I the only one who's a necromancer?
I can assure you that firefighters, ambulance officers and highway police see just as many pieces of horrific gore as soldiers do. Different circumstances yes, but I do find it a little bit offensive to imply that only soldiers are the people who have to deal with that and only you and other soldiers would have seen it. I understand you aren't trying to imply that, and I realise you aren't saying that only soldiers have a right to complain about it - it's just something about me I don't like hearing because it makes soldiers seem like these big brave amazing heroes when there are people back home who have to scrape children off the side of the road after being gutted but a piece of metal, or pick up remains of someone who was cut in half during a work place accident or hose down remains of a firefighter who was blown to pieces after a car exploded. Or try to hold back a mother trying to pick up the organs and the head of her son off of a highway where he has just been dragged 100 metres by a truck.AccursedTheory said:True, but I can hardly think of a scenario beyond war where one may be completely bisected by a pound of molten copper traveling at super sonic speeds, or be turned into meat by thousands of pounds by high explosives, or be turned into dust by hundreds of tungsten balls.SillyBear said:Am I the only one who thinks diet soft drink tastes nicer than normal soft drink?

Well, maybe the second one, on rare occasions.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen. Only that a soldier is more likely to see such things.
Nah, thats a pretty standard view point.Harbinger_ said:Am I the only person who

Ah, good. Nice to see there are others who share my pipedream.AccursedTheory said:No.Redlin5 said:Also, am I the only one who

You are one of thousands.
Oh.....wow. I.... For whatever it's worth, I'm sorry, man. I'm sorry my thread made you even think about that. I seriously am.AccursedTheory said:As a network technician in Iraq, I was sometimes caught working at our base morgue at the wrong times, and was asked to help with bodies. Not actual mortician stuff, but carrying them around and such. I remember the first guy... he was in a body bag. When we carried him, the bag sagged in the middle and sloshed around like it was full of watery mud. I soon found out he had been blown in half by a EFP, but had somehow survived long enough for our hospital to at least attempt to save him. In transit his spine was finally severed and his torso pretty much fell apart in the bag.GrizzlerBorno said:What are you talking about, exactly?AccursedTheory said:I think, since Marine Mike left, I'm one of 2-4 people on this site who's watched a man be blown apart in person.
