when things are too balanced it means that there's no point having classes since nothing is higher nor lower in effective ness
look at Killzone 2 everything is OVER POWERED but this add's so much to the fun because every class and badge has a job
while in TF2 it didn't matter who you pick because your always gonna play the same
plus it makes the game less fun when things are balanced
when i played as Pyro i found out that i could be playing as scout and it won't make a differeance because they were SO Balanced that you might as well call them clones
if i choose a different class i expect it to change my style of play
Now I know you are just bad at game. You are telling me that you play a super-fast Scout that is really hard to miss, a giant and slow Heavy with a huge minigun and a stealthy Spy the same?
You probably don't know there are 3 types of Pyros out there...
1. Support - keeps enemies at bay on Defense maps, blows out grenades and rockets back at enemy.
2. Attack - focus on avoiding gunfire, then burning everything and forcing enemy to retreat.
3. Sneak attack - using the Backburner, sneak behind the enemies or ambush them to benefit from the 100% critical rate.
You also play different with a Sniper than any other class... What am I talking about - every class has a different style.
For example - what do you do if there's a Sentry behind a wall, hidden so your Heavy won't survive meeting him, Scout can't jump behind and kill, Soldier dies after shooting once? Use a Demoman. Put 5 stickies, boom. Or just 2 if there's a crit sticky. And Sentry (plus Engineer behind him) is no more.
Fail to do that and you'll see why you need a Demoman.
Not to mention that only an ubered Demoman and MAYBE a Pyro can clear out 3 sentries bunched up together.

...Huh? What do you mean by that? One of the reasons the game is so brilliant is because the classes are near-perfectly balanced.
EDIT: Am I the only one here who actually likes the 360 version...?

I like it because not only is it fun in general but it also has so much diversity, I can play it like a normal FPS with the heavy, just mowing down everything, or play it as an engineer finding the best spots to build and always on the look out for spies, the demoman for clever ambushing techniques and the spy which turns the game into an intense stealth game, darting from foe to foe, weighing up the risks of stabbing an engie with the risk he'll know I'm about when he respawns. Perfect for someone with a low attention span
Sounds like what happens to me when I play strategy games. I spend hours, maybe days constructing the ultimate defensive base, having loads of fun, and then get bored of it and realise it's not real and I should be doing something more constructive with my time
Play it on the PC.
You will enjoy it then.
Also, it is not a death match type of game, TEAM Fortress, you need to get tactical and play with you team mates.

Boy you have no idea how TF2 works...Having overpowered classes=Lots of people playing the OP classes few playing the other. Balanced classes=People play the class they like more or the one that brings more to the team in that particular moment.
And while TF2 is one of the easiest multiplayer FPS to pick up and have a high score(unless you pick Spy) it rewards more the player for playing as a team then in *insert multiplayer FPS* were everyone is fragging the hell out of each other.
