Yeah. PC version is updated. Nearly daily. However, I've found the scout update to...change the game a lot. I don't like that.Willwillwritehiswill said:There's your problem.UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:it was the PS3 version if it makes a differenace
Certain classes ARE more effective in certain situations. There IS a point in having different classes, because they're all radically different and it's what gives the game its strategic depth. If they were all exactly the same, you'd be right. But they aren't.UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:when things are too balanced it means that there's no point having classes since nothing is higher nor lower in effective nessAbedeus said:How is too much balance a bad thing?!Kalezian said:Team Fortress 2 is pretty bad, everything is TOO balanced. my only regret in that game is not having TF 1 anymore.....
It's like complaining that your pizza is just the right size, your tea just sweet enough, coffee is not weak and not strong - just right.
Every game wants to be balanced and TF2 achieved it. Or maybe you just enjoy exploiting overpowered weapons/skills?
Yes, it does make a difference. a huge one. The PC version has had bugfixes, class weapon updates, hundreds of new maps, thousands of servers with different settings and mods to enhance the play experience, payload gamemode, and much, much more.UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:(it was the PS3 version if it makes a differenace)
also if you thing the classes are in any way similar, you are clearly playing them horribly, horribly wrong.UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:when i played as Pyro i found out that i could be playing as scout and it won't make a differeance because they were SO Balanced that you might as well call them clones
Geez shut up will ya. How do you know its not balanced anymore if you only played it for 10 minutes? Cause you read "Scout gets new weapons!" somewere in the internet? And the game doesnt reward the player for playinf non-stop. Most of the achievments needed for the first weapon unlock for most classes you can get in 20 minutes.ultimateownage said:I played the pc version for 10 minutes and haven't played it since, I found it so boring and know because of the new character updates it's not balanced any more, new players won't stand a chance against the people who play it non stop and unlock all the weapons.
The PS3 version is filled with bugs and bad controls. And both console versions havent got a single class update. Thatsb why people ask right away "is it PS3/360 version?".Alpha Reaper757 said:Just a veeeery small question. How come when people talk about games on multi-platforms and how the game sucked, the first thing to fly out of people's mouth is "it was the ps3 version?"
Just an observation no need for a "bash off."
I should REALLY play the PC version thenguardian001 said:Yes, it does make a difference. a huge one. Scouts are fast and weak, making them ideal for capturing after other classes have cleared the way.
soldiers are fairly average, having slightly higher power than some other classes, and the ability to rocket jump.
Pyros are good for close range, but have no other distinctive characteristics. Their ability to ignite enemies also allows them to attack and retreat while still doing damage.
Demomen are incredibly good at destroying engineers hard work, but with the drawback of limited range due to the arc of their fire.
Heavies are the tank class. They can mow down enemies and have high health, but with the drawback of being extremely slow and inaccurate.
Engineers have useless underpowered weapons. They make up for this by building sentry guns, health and ammo dispensers, teleporters, and other things to help their team.
medics also have low firepower, but have the ability to heal and make their teammates invulnerable for short periods of time.
Snipers have very little usefulness at close range, but their sniper rifle allows them to kill from across the map with perfect accuracy. They are also the only class that can kill a heavy in one shot without ever being in danger.
Finally, the spy. Also fairly low powered, the spy can sap and destroy engineer buildings, as well as being capable of disguising as enemies, turning invisible, and getting instant kills with his knife from behind.
None of these classes are in any way similar. at all. They each have strengths and weaknesses, and each play a key role in winning the round.
from my experiance off reading all these repliesoliveira8 said:Boy you have no idea how TF2 works...Having overpowered classes=Lots of people playing the OP classes few playing the other. Balanced classes=People play the class they like more or the one that brings more to the team in that particular moment.UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:when things are too balanced it means that there's no point having classes since nothing is higher nor lower in effective nessAbedeus said:How is too much balance a bad thing?!Kalezian said:Team Fortress 2 is pretty bad, everything is TOO balanced. my only regret in that game is not having TF 1 anymore.....

look at Killzone 2 everything is OVER POWERED but this add's so much to the fun because every class and badge has a job
while in TF2 it didn't matter who you pick because your always gonna play the same
plus it makes the game less fun when things are balanced
when i played as Pyro i found out that i could be playing as scout and it won't make a differeance because they were SO Balanced that you might as well call them clones
if i choose a different class i expect it to change my style of play
not just change how i look
And while TF2 is one of the easiest multiplayer FPS to pick up and have a high score(unless you pick Spy) it rewards more the player for playing as a team then in *insert multiplayer FPS* were everyone is fragging the hell out of each other.
UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:I have heard loads of people praise Team Fortress 2
but when i played it i found boring
the maps in my opinon were not good
the classes were over balanced
and all fun seems to be illusion
but thats my view
(it was the PS3 version if it makes a differenace)
so what did you think of TF 2 and why ?
This is a good thing. Meaning no class is gimped. Because rock-paper-scissors is the worst kind of "balance" that never works.Kalezian said:Abedeus said:How is too much balance a bad thing?!Kalezian said:Team Fortress 2 is pretty bad, everything is TOO balanced. my only regret in that game is not having TF 1 anymore.....

its called tactics. you put down a sentry, ANY class can destroy it, ANY class can kill a heavy, the list is endless. in the first one every class had a class that could deal with it, in 2 you just choose what you want to look like when you run out of 2fort, since thats the only map people seem to play on the 360
