So, every once and awhile I'm tempted to post a thread on here, but always decide against it at the last second. (So far, I've only actually posted 2 threads, this one included.)
Because I get nervous, and think "What if people think this thread is stupid?" or "What if my thread lacks discussion value?"
I like this website, and its community. So I worry about whether or not people will respond well to my thread.
I was just curious if I was the only one here who has this problem, or is this a relatively common thing to see?
Also, do you find it odd that I worry about what all of you here at the escapist may think about me?
Also, sorry if this lacks discussion value, I'm still relatively new when it comes to Forums and all that jazz.

YOU ARE NEVER THE ONLY ONE!

Stop making these threads. There are 4.6 billion people on this planet, at least one of them HAVE GOT to share your concerns.

I completely agree with the first two posters.
Hell, I started a thread about a hypothetical Space Jam remake.
I thought it was stupid(so did all of the posters), but I did it anyway.
(It's totally dead, too. Shows how much I put into it)

I never post threads unless at some workplace forum. I do not need no reassurance to my views. Avoid the problem completely.

This thread is stupid!!!

Nah, just kidding man. It's perfectly understandable and I guarantee you are not the only one. Don't worry about posting a bad thread though. If it's not interesting it'll just go unnoticed. People won't judge you badly unless you are consistently bad.

Come think of it, I've never posted a thread here... I wonder why...

Guess I've never really felt like it, but it's not like I'm scared of anything. Except the might banhammer that is. Every intelligent member of the escapist should fear it. :D

Anyway, don't worry, if a thread fails, we forgive and forget. If it's awesome, we remember. =P
It's not odd to be nervous when around such awesome people as some here. Just remember, they're humans too, even if some of them would like to think they're something more... (LOOKING AT YOU Rex Dark! =.=")

I realize now that this was sort of a dumb way of wording my question.
I know I'm not the only one.
But, as I stated, I get nervous even though I don't actually know any of you. So my being nervous affected the quality of my post, and the wording of my question.
I don't really know why I get nervous, its just how I am.

I think it's actually alot closer to 7 billion, which makes your point understated.

Google: 6,793,248,608 as of December 2009.

No you're not. I often think about threads but dismiss them because I am afraid it won't get 100 views or comments or stuff like this. Later I think that it's not stupid if people don't notice that thread, that just means either it was a topic people are not interested in or then your headline wasn't catchy enough. But who cares if that happens. I like to post into threads not make them, but maybe I should give it a shot, I have some stuff on my mind.

Nah, your not alone. I'm careful about the threads I start as well. I've had a fair few failed discussions regardless. Just keep on plugging.
