The Flickr account was a nice touch, but still not buying it.
I'm going to have to agree with Antari on this one.

You know I was just kidding anyway I have no real trust in those people and I've heard of weirder things, at least you're not marrying the movie... are you?

Oh geez...

You know why dont you check out my dA account as well? And my youtube channel. There is even a forum for "bolt-lovers" on which ive been very active. There should be no doubt as to the realism in my statements.

Nah, that would be impossible due to copyright issues. But i heard about this one japanese guy who legally married an anime character.

You can feel deeply for the character and admire them as an inspiring person (or animal)
I think your just finding the character cool and admirable, it's not love or anything, in other words a "man crush" which means you don't want to be the character, you just want them to be close to you like a brother or best friend, nothing sexual.
I'm pretty sure every Gurren Lagann fan has felt close to Kamina

your not in love as far as I can tell...unless you have just discovered that you are into bestiality, if that is the case disregard my previous rant.

Google 'furry'.
You are not alone with your... interests. Don't worry, though- Anthropology is a legitimate fascination. Until you get into yiffing. At that point, just give up. Just... give up.

Well, the dog is given a near human face with human emotion, I can understand why at some level the OP feels attracted to him. He's made to be somewhat human so that people, and especially kids, will like him. However, if you think it's love...that's gone a bit too far.

You know, I read some of the comments in this thread and I've come to grasp the ignorance of the average escapist. Not surprising but still very disheartening.

this really depends on how deeply your affection for this character is. but if it is as strong as you lead me to believe, and that you are in fact truly in love, or atleast hugely obsessed, with this fictional character, i think you may want to seek psychological help

It sounds like you are trolling but if you're not I'm going to tell you I've seen far weirder shit but I still think you are not trolling you are an insane person and should go get a psychiatrist right away (note that this is coming from someone with no social life and is considered a freak by many).
Why thanks for your recommendations but im not actually considering a psychiatrist. I only added that last part to kinda imply that i have some sort of understanding of just how absurdly deviating my affection is.
And there it is. If you aren't considering a psychiatrist, then what exactly are you looking for here? Besides reactions, of course.

I've never actually seen the movie but if I'm correct, he is anthropomorphic? If he is, than you're a furry and you can join the group and be accepted by me and many other furries on this site. If it's not anthropomorphic, well it's still not crazy or anything. It's just an attraction to the personality of the dog.

Don't feel bad, he's voiced by John Travolta, no one would fault you for loving him.

Well, I was kind of obsessed with Amaterasu from Okami for a while.
Not wanting to marry her or anything like that but I'd have images of her everywhere and wouldn't shutup about it.
Maybe you are just going through a more severe case of what I did?
Give it time, you'll probably grow out of it.

I just want to make it perfectly clear that I am not a troll. What exactly is this hypothesis founded on other than the idea of my affection being too strange to possible be real?

Proving that i am perfectly serious should be rather easy. Just do a google search on my name.
As of today (and during the latest two years!) ive posted several posts on numerous websites. Why would anyone pretend to be this pathetic, anyway?

Instead, lets focus on the "obsession" itself. Those who suggest that there is a "furry aspect" are perfectly right. I've been an active member of the furry fandom for many years.

And yes, Bolt is a non-morphic anthropomorphic animated dog, meaning that he has both the body language of the common dog but also the expressive mimic of a human being.

Don't worry, you're not the only one.

F....u...r...r...i...e...s... W....h...e....r....e....?

Being a bit more serious and mature, I have no idea if it's normal or not. I do know that it's probably some kind of a fetish which isn't going to get much hate from the internet, simply another crazy thing. I also know that it isn't normal per say but not extraordinary. There is a condition which makes you in love with inanimte objects for example!

It's just a dog that you are attracted to, probably a crush that will go away.

Yes, as already stated by at least 20 other users, I am a bit of a furry. ;)

But yes, it is technically possible to find emotional and sexual interest in characters or objects that are fictional according to the American Journal of Psychiatry.

I'm no psychiatrist but where do you want to with this? How long has this gone on for?
