Amazing Music

I've recently started listening to the band Powerglove, and it's got me thinking about music. When I think about it, I'm a bit of a music nut, I like to have music playing whenever possible and music can bring me to the point of raging anger or tears if it's good enough.
I wanted to discuss what bands you guys like and what kinds of music you're in to. To start things off, I love songs based around games, one of my favourite bands from recent years has to be The Protomen (who write music based on the gaming series megaman). Their music inspires me so much, it has such feeling behind it and their songs have story to them, which comes out amazingly in their music. I also love The Megas (another megaman based band), Jonathon Coulton (a musician who wrote the ending themes to portal and portal 2) and even some youtube musicians, like Alex day and brentalfloss (look them up )
So anyway, what musicians and bands do you guys like? Are there any songs that can bring you to tears?

I've always loved the Halo series music, the beginning of this song is really heavily emotional, although it only lasts till about 1:30 when it changes pace quite drastically:

Devil May Cry 3 had an amazing soundtrack. Well, for Vergil battles anyway


Such a great battle theme.

Viewtiful Joe had some pretty sweet tracks too.

My favourite goes to Blade Master Alastor's theme.



Any game music thread wouldn't be the same without Okami

I see you're a fan of the slow paced grand styled video game music, I enjoyed listening to Tamriel Rebuilt and I've always been a fan of the grand music of Elder Scrolls, but my sort of game music is more fast paced, like We Are Finally Cowboys from No More Heroes, this tune always gets me pumped up:

Well I was originally talking about songs based on video games, but game soundtracks are great too xD But yes, I love the sonic soundtracks too, I love this version of Sonic Boom from Sonic CD (Done by Crush 40 and Cash Cash)

The Killers, Coldplay and Gorillaz. Occasional classic rock (Kinks, Queen and the like), and recently my sister introduced me to Edward Sharpe and the Electric Magnets; they've only got a few good songs but the ones that are good are amazing.
