spider man 3 wasnt even that bad.granted it dropped the ball but there was PLENTY of room for a sequel.
i saw this trailer in the captain america showing....it looked like shit. he didnt look like peter, it didnt look like spidey,he didnt even get bit in the right spot.

man, how did spiderman go from one of the greatest superhero movies ever (spider-man 2) to this crap with some poser with bad hair dressing as spidey.

also, say what you want, but toby mcguire was a damn fine peter parker.

they will never be able to replace J.K. Simmons as Jameson, he was awesome. After seeing this trailer, I have absolutely no interest in seeing it.

also did anyone else realize the web coming from his neck? is that where he spins them out cause at time 2:13 it looks like a device is in place on his wrist to redirect it.
thats one thing i really liked about the first 3, he made the webs from his wrist naturally which made more sense to me, yes he's smart, but the web devices would have been too much for film in my opinion.

Yep, 2 hours of Peter looking stupid & 15 min. of Spider-man. Just like the last 3 movies. I could be wrong... doubt it

First off, why are they rebooting something so recent? Anyway I find it kind of hard to buy a pretty-boy as Peter Parker...

Did you really ever expect it to be good? Resetting Spider-man so that we could see him in high school? A blind man could have seen that they were going to try to cash in on the fucking Twilight phenomenon. I've been predicting this would be terrible ever since they booted Raimi off the project and decided to reboot. The only reason 3 failed was because of executive meddling forcing him to rewrite the entire movie to include Venom with the deadline looming overhead. Personally, I'm sick of the whole reboot thing Hollywood has going on. Let us fucking move on!
No kidding, this is getting bad. I also don't know why they have Pete back in high school and brooding. Especially the brooding part. Spidey is a lot of thing but not BROODING.

Because brooding is what Hollywood thinks is popular right now, so they make every character brooding, whether it suits the character or not. The bigger problem is that Hollywood doesn't know how to do brooding characters (or most characters, for that matter), so they all come off as whiny little bitches.

Well, that wasn't so bad. Except for the end, which was atrocious. Still, if I'm not mistaken, I saw Kevin Bacon and Martin Sheen. With Emma Stone as well, hell, I'd watch this.
If you're talking about George Stacy (Gwen's dad) at 0:46 of the trailer, that's not Kevin Bacon, it's Denis Leary.

Not bad. . . at least until the really crappy CGI. That was just kinda painful to watch.

IMO, though, the film could REALLY do without retelling his origin story for the thirty-bajillionth time.

That's my main problem with this new movie, actually: just about EVERYONE knows Spidey's origin story, and if you don't it wouldn't take much more than a few minutes at the beginning of the film to catch you up. This isn't Ironman or Thor, where the mainstream audience doesn't really know who the character is, we don't NEED to see Peter Parker trying to understand his new powers. We know how that played it; it's the stereotypical superhero origin story. We're past that, why do we have to see an origin story EVERY SINGLE TIME a new actor gets the role?

We'll see, the movie is a year away from releasing, of course, but I'm extremely skeptical of it. Maybe there'll be more reinvention of the character than the trailer's letting on.

I don't get why people are so pessimistic about this. It looks awesome to me. Nice reboot, fresh start to erase some mistakes (unfortunately it can never banish McGuire's strutting from the deepest, darkest corner of my memory) and... yeah, I like it.

The ending sequence from 1st person is... well, it's weird to see but it actually works.

Plus, and this is a personal one, the guy playing Spiderman (I regularly forget his name, which annoys me) is roughly 5,000,000 times hotter than Toby McGuire. and 2,500,000 times hotter than James Franco. And 100 times hotter than Topher Grace. So already the hot guy quota is way up from the previous trilogy.

Yeah, so why did they copy Mirror's Edge? I mean, if you're gonna copy draw inspiration from something, at least try and make it so it's not as obvious.

The movie looks fine. But I can't help but feel upset about that obvious rip-off.

I liked the part where it seems he has a web device attached to his wrists. It kinda goes back to the cartoon.

Edit: Although this new Garfield guy is "hotter", as people put it, guess what? Peter Parker is NOT! I might not be Tobey's greatest fan but at least I liked him because when he removed the mask, he looked like anything but a hero. Not all heroes are tall, sleek, muscular and handsome. Spider Man is everything but this. He's nerdy, awkward, shy, weird and so on (And not brooding).

So I'm not liking this new Spidey. Yeah, he looks better but it just doesn't feel right. Next thing you know, Aunt May is gonna be played by Angelina Jolie. Cause she's hot. And hot sells, right?
I'm still gonna watch the movie. And yeah, I'm not saying the last Spider man movies were much better. But...I guess if you combine the first trilogy (Awkward and funny Spidey) with this new one (Smart/Nerdy (NOT BROODING) Peter), we'll get something good.
But I s'posse it's too early to cast judgment...

Trailer looks good. Shame about the name. The Amazing Spiderman. Why don't you call it the "Super-Duper Awsome Magical Spiderman"?

Hopefully they won't play the mopey teenager card too much and it be a good film.

Though, bit early for a re-boot?

All I want is for J.K. Simmons to be J. Jonah Jameson again. There is no one else who can play that part. NO ONE.
It would be hilarious if that actually happened just because he was the perfect JJJ.

I just saw this trailer in 3D while waiting to see Captain America... I'm going to go watch the first Spiderman again and forget about this film.
