Pidgeon or Pidgin is eaten in Britain but mainly in posher restraunts as it is a game bird like pheasant, guineafowl and partridge, but mainly its mostly popular in the "Home Counties" These are the counties that border London but do not include London itself.
Have you ever had it? Is it any good?
No I've never had it nor have I had any thing gamey at all, dunno whwere I would go to get some round where I live. Short of asking a farmer to borrow his shotgun and go shootin for it :S
It's taste is rather similar to duck. At least I thought so. Not an unpleasant taste at all.
If you get the farm-raised variety (which is what most restaurants offer), then they taste pretty good. The wild variety can taste quite gamey, though. Makes sense. A wild pigeon, as has been mentioned already, is a rat with feathers. They eat all kindsa nasty shit.

I have a question for the Brits:

Fish and Chips, What's up with that? (As in, why'd you even start eating Fish with Chips when Salsa is such a better alternative)

Lotsa cod fish in the Atlantic waters off the British Isles. Not that many bell peppers and tomatoes. You go with the flow.

And the "chips" in "fish 'n' chips" aren't what the Americans think of as "chips" (as in Tostitos tortilla chips). They're more like "french fries."

You realise what British people call chips are what Americans call "fries". Your chips we call "crisps".

So fish and chips as fast food makes perfect sence. Plus the whole island nation means we have alot of fishing. (Although Chicken Tikka Masala has now overtaken Fish and Chips as the nations favourate dish I do believe... which I personally prefer too :) )

Finally! Someone willing to admit that the influx of immigrants from the former colonies ain't an altogether bad thing. My man!

I'd actually rather have immigration from within the British Commonwealth countries then European ones to be honest, as they've ultimately put much more into Britain the Europe has. But no, instead we get unrestricted immigration within the EU while anyone outside of it needs to pay for visas and can be capped out of the EU. - Which has actually lead to a shortage of certain jobs, such as Indian Chefs (the kids of the original immigrants don't want to work in their parent's takeaways)

I decided to take advantage of this opportunity.

What are Rothman's?

Is it true that fish and chips are as popular as our burgers and fries?

After being metrics schooled in another thread it begs the question: What do you call the Quarter Pounder?

What is the name of your political system since your Democracy can be influenced by your Monarchy?

Are people in the United Kingdom very politically active as a whole? In the United States 40% of our people can't name the Vice President and election turn outs are dismal. I shudder to think what would have happened in that poll if they would have asked how many people we actualy have in the Senate or something like that. (Even though that's an easy one since there are two per state.)

How much is the average Brittish person aware of/interested in Science? Here I haven't seen any polls or anything but I feel our educational system could use a boost.

What is the baseline Brittish view of the United States?

About when did video games become widely available in the U.K.?

About what percentage of the U.K. would consider themselves NOT practicing members of any organized religion?

Thanks! 80D

Do their parents want them to work in the takeaways? Rarely do the immigrant parents of first-generation children want the same thing they experienced for their children. They may not want them to work in a takeaway because they want to use all the money they pinched and saved from the takeaway cash register to send them off to medical school to become physicians. Fuck that working in a takeaway bullshit.

Rothman's are cigarettes. But if you must smoke a Brit fag, smoke Dunhill's.

The political system's called "parliamentarian" (they have a parliamentary system of government).

The Brits think the Yanks are loud, fat, uncouth, and ignorant.

I have not, but I hope to someday.

Why do some American (90% of those I've met) either assume I'm either extreamly posh or some kind of anti-social, chavish dick? Is it how us Brits are depicted on Tv or is it just something Americans tend to assume unless they get to know someone from England?
Well, it's likely either because 90% of those they've met make assumptions about Americans (zing~) or you've just had bad luck with those you meet. Most Americans I know are fairly swell and aren't prejudiced against the British, only the French.

Also how do I post a picture? It's relevant to a question.

Why do you guys drive on the wrong side of the road and put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car? Ya'll are one of three or four countries that does this, and of those others, only one is and always has been completely independent of your government, so it's always bugged me as to why.
Wrong. Go to most any former British colony (of which there are dozens) and you'll find left-hand side driving.

And while you're there, you won't drive over a "speed bump." You'll drive over a "sleeping policeman." Which freaks a lotta drivers from the States out a first because there are posted signs that say "Caution! Sleeping Policeman!" and it leaves then wondering why he doesn't wake up and do his job.

I have a question: What do British folk call:

Your image is kind of broken for me, but upon entering the image URL directly; we call them 'crisps'.

My question from the UK to people in the USA;
Not sure if it's been asked here before or if it's changes recently, but what is some Americans' problem with public healthcare and calling things 'communist' or 'fascist' as a kind of knee-jerk reaction to anything (which rarely relates in any way to what communism or fascism actally is)?

EDIT;

Use those tags without spaces, and but the image url in between them. Like this (You can see it through a quote);

Oh, thanks for going out of your way to answer my broken question! :D

I've never encountered that thing, I think it may actually be a stereotype of Americans that people outside the country encounter more than actually exists inside America. But the actual reason they'd do that? Probably brainwashing. I don't really know what you mean by a problem with public healthcare though.

Because it's easier to call Obama a "socialist" and get away with it than to call him a "ni@@er" (which is what most of them would rather call him if they could get away with it).
