Really it doesn't matter. I've never had any alcohol and don't plan on it. I don't see the point in destroying your liver so you can act like a dick at a party.
This is what not-drinkers actually believe.

They don't bother waiting (and by "they," I mean people who aren't me). I really have no interest in drinking, but a lot of other people just get themselves drunk as hell every once in a while. Hence, police showing up at your party catching people running left and right.

What's with all the assumption that all drinking entails is getting smashed and being a dickhead? Most people can draw themselves a line quite well, and if you do go overboard every now and then, what's the harm? It's not all alcoholics and abusive stepfathers. Personally I enjoy a drink with friends, and I'll be damned if some dry shite is going to tell me that I'm and idiot for doing so.

I mean, if you want to drink, fine. I'm no straight edge. But come the fuck on. If you seriously think drinking is the highest form of socialization, you've obviously never had an ounce real fun. Probably never been to any real parties either. Just intoxication orgies.
Surely you're not referring to that other type of orgy are you? If drinking gets such a bad response on these forums fuck knows we'll have witch burnings over sexual promiscuity.

Nope, a lot of people don't like that either. Lately it's going like if you drink, smoke, have sex, party, fight, lift weights, vote republican, own guns, this forum hates you. I have noticed a large upturn in people on this forum who act like MaxTheReaper, but they are not him. Everyone has this terrible nihlistic attitude towards everyone, because when you let one person get away with it for so long, of course other people are going to emulate it. Not Max's fault, but I really wish something could be done about these people that want nothing more to drop a few self-concieved badass lines in a thread, then defending their edgey position with circular logic. Or, maybe I am the only one who sees this.

Because that is all I have ever seen happen.
If I had seen something other than that result, then chances are I would not be so critical of it.

By killing any New Jersian I see. It used to be legal to drink at 18 in New York so a bunch of Jersey kids would drive over, get hammered and prove the theory of natural selection. Then New Jersey got all whiny aboot it and we had to suffer.

This is a very extremist view of alcohol, from what you wrote it sounds like you think having a couple drinks will wipe your memory and cause your liver to explode. This is not the case, and it is proven billions of times every day. Sure having excess amount of it will, but there are lots of things where too much is bad, food, sleep, oxygen, etc. Many studies have even shown that reasonable amounts of alcohol are good, helping blood pressure and dealing with stress. Some compounds found in red wine have even been shown to slow the aging process.

I'm not saying that you should drink or that everybody should drink or anything I'm just saying you should at least open your mind and accept people for what they choose to do.
Oh I know about the potential medical advantages, which is why I think alchohol should be a perscribed.

Then what do you say to those of us that drink in moderation, a simple drink or two between a small group of friends. when was it said that you needed to be smashed for drinking to be fun?
Not getting drunk is fine. Sorry for giving the wrong impression there, but it's getting drunk that I hate so much, not simply drinking.

Jeezis tits, preach much man? I mean if drinking isn't your deal by all means go for it but taking the piss out of some of us who do is really dickish.
No more dickish than pissing on a hobo, which is more a drunk's thing anyway.
Alright well you enjoy that high horse. Personally I find nothing wrong with getting drunk once in a while. By the way, where is the evidence that being drunk and pissing on a hobo are correlated? I have been drunk many times and have never done such a thing.

Quite easily, because most alcoholic beverages are pretty darn disgusting and I was never an idiot kid looking to get drunk. I barely imbibe now that I'm of legal age.

Most cope with not being allowed to drink in the same way we cope with anything else stressful: Copious amounts of alcohol.

But seriously, it's illegal, but it's not exactly cracked down on in most circumstances. It's generally accepted that teenagers will drink, and as long as you keep your head down, you won't get in trouble. I'm sure there are places more stringent about it, but generally its no big thing.

I try not to think about it. I have ADD so such a thing is exceedingly easy to accomplish.

its not illegal, its illegal to drink under 21 in public, but if your parents dont care, you can drink at age 7 in the US because of how the law is writen
most people breat that law anyway.

plus didnt a loophole in English law make drinking legal at age 3 minutes?
Pretty much. You can drink at whatever age in your own home under adequate parental supervision, and when you turn 16 you're allowed to half a half-pint or a glass of wine with a meal (can't remember if a parent has to be there or not though).

Three major reasons:

1. I'm allergic to the tannins in most wines and the hops in beer. (Beer also smells so abhorrent that I wouldn't want to try it anyway.)

2. Having a family destroyed by addictive alcoholism, and being blessed with the only children on their side who managed to escape as my parents, doesn't lead to a positive view on alcohol.

3. Not only is it illegal, but I really don't see the point of drinking in the first place. Why drink something just because it as alcohol in it? Give me iced tea or water instead, thank you.

Though, granted, I hear that some alcohols taste really good, like fruit Snaaps (?), and that some people drink them because they taste good. Same goes for anything else, but I don't think the majority holds by that.

One of two ways. One, by drinking illegally(obviously). Or two, by not drinking or becoming dependent on alcohol, saving our money for better things, and living happy, addicting-substance-free lives.
