I've occasionally wondered if these guys are just really, really committed anti-Christians, because they're doing a fantastic job of advertising the baser nature of religion. It almost seems more plausible than the apparent fact that some people actually believe some of the madness they've come up with.

lol, I love the line, "It isn't one of the ten commandments"
"Yes is is, it's adultery"
"No that's cheating on someone"

Is it wrong that I feel a very strong urge to hurt those people severely?
Seriously, I generally consider myself to be very anti-violence, but wow. o_O

I can only say this: reality can sometimes more more fucked up than fiction!

That woman has serious problems, to say the very least!

Not if I'm simply enjoying a good Youtube Video mocking them. I'm willing to laugh at them, hell I'd even do a reverse protest just to piss them off, because for one, I think it'd be funny, and two, it would piss them off because I'm doing exactly what they are doing and thus can't be sued by them

He says he hates America, but he is waving a flag around. He really is addicted to hate. He is even waving the flag around upside-down. That means he's in distress that people are kicking his ass in humorous ways.
They wave the flag upsidedown to show their distaste for it. They hang both an upsidedown American and Canadian flag at their "Church" while they do service. It's their way of saying they hate the country and it's "Fag Lovers"

Wow, that was a total Jackass Off and Moore won. I wouldn't have thought anybody could shut Phelps up, but its Moore with the upset.

Has anyone ever stopped to wonder why hate groups devote so much thought to gay sex? It can't be healthy to spend every waking moment thinking about gay people and how much you hate them, but they seem to wallow in what they abhor, and hope to get everyone else to wallow in misery with them, so we can all exist in a gay-hating misery hole together, doing nothing but hate everything and everyone all day long. Its sounds almost like...a living hell.
The same reason the KKK thought so much about blacks, why people in my area worry so God Dammed much about the Native Americans on their reserves, and why people are dicks to other types of people in the first place; we can't tolerate each other. It seems like whenever someone different comes around, we got two million people saying its wrong, even if it isn't, welcome to the world, she's a *****.

Sigh... I'm amazed how stuff like this is possible in this day and age. You'd think that people would get smarter but nooooo. Or maybe people are getting smarter but the inevitable stupidity is focusing on certain people >:/

Sigh...

its shocking that people misread the bible like that

at no point does it ever say no gay's
Actually it quite clearly says that. Specifically it says gay people should be stoned to death (it's in leviticus I believe.)

OT: I wish I could call them crazy but unfortunately stupidity is not a form of insanity. They are however among the most despicable people I have ever seen.
WRONG. I have a copy of the King James Bible right here. It says, "You shall not lie with a man as you do with a woman." However, the punishment in question is exile, not death or stoning. The punishment for homosexuality, incest, and beastiality is to be "cut off" from the people-exile, not torture or murder.
One of the first things my priest told me when i was taking confirmation classes was (this was a while ago, but the words stuck with me): "Remember to not take the bible word for word, but look for the lesson each story is meant to teach for the time it was written. The bible is partly rewritten multiple times with almost each generation to keep up with the times."

When i got home i borrowed the bible my mother has, which is a gift from her grandmother (and was probably a gift to her from her grandmother again..). Comparing that with my version, i was quite surprised to see the differences. That bible was nearly outright racist, with messages that were not found in my bible (thankfully).

At this point in my life, i see the bible as a book containing what is possibly the words of the god in christendom. But they are not where you think they are. The only words in the bible that would come from that god... are ten rules. Everything else is written by man, translated by man and corrupted by man. The full stories are long gone, with only short passages left to be taken in the spirit they were originally meant, for the time they were meant to be in.

Not meaning to offend anyone, these are my thoughts and beliefs about it. If you believe differently, you are welcome to.

But, religion aside. If i didnt think i would be arrested for it, i would happily picket the Phelps if one of them passed away. Or better yet. I would give my left (left, not right.. ) ovary to see them arrested and sentenced for hate speech.

(apologies if i sound short and/or angry, i'm not, but this is the way i write and i cannot write any other way.)

Believe it or not but even the KKK thought these people had crossed the line. That's right, the Ku Klux Klan, the cult of "burn-the-******" thought these people are evil and out of touch with reality.... Wow, I guess that says some thing. Fox hates them, the KKK hates them... Jeez if such thing exists I bet even the devil hates them. Also just take a good long look at her, just look in her eyes... I think she may actually be Satan or one of his offspring.

You know what is cool, they are basically hurting their own cause and getting more people to rally for gay rights. When someone says they hate gay people then they get a look at these assholes, its like looking in the mirror and finaly sayin "Am I that fucking crazy?" and relize that their hate is stupid. I figure these scenario happens at lest 70/30

During that video I actually did contemplate homicide. These are the kind of people you could murder without even looking back on it.

It it the Phelps?

giggles amused

Yes we know about them here in Sweden to. He's calling our monarch some pretty hideous things.

I have but one message to them, unconditional and true:

Mr Phelps... I forgive you. Com'ere and I'll give ya a big loving hug.

Deliver that message to him and watch the hating old b-tard get his knickers in a knot. :D

/S

I love how such people call themselves christians, yet the pick the stuff out of the old testament which contradicts him the most.

As far as i interpret the bible, didn't Jesus form a new bond with humankind and renewed most of the laws in the old testament, thus overruling them? Not that i am a faithful christian, i'm far from it.
And there are many, many interpretations and translations of the bible out there, i bet not everyone of them has the same laws about homosexuality.

Damn I ended up watching all of it. Eh members of all religions try to justify their opinions no matter how blatantly wrong they are. The human mind twists things so easily. If there was a devil it was created by us.

WRONG. The most recent efforts for translating the original Hebrew actually have brought up an interesting fact. The words used for that section are different for the two "man"s. The first man (in the current Bible, it's "you") has been translated as meaning "man (elder)", and the second "man" has been translated as "male/young man", which would suggest that that passage is against paedophilia, rather than homosexuality.

Also, the concept of two separate genders is only a few hundred years old, which makes the concept of "homosexuality" at the time completely false, as, to them, it didn't exist at the time.

So no, the actual Bible says nothing against homosexuality, as the concept of 2 separate genders didn't exist in the human psyche at the time. The more modern translations, however, do go out of their way to be anti-homosexual.

The fact that King James, who commissioned that version of the Bible, hung around with lots of effeminate men, and generally shunned the presence of women, should obviously indicate quite how much he wanted to prove his own sexuality ;-)

Ok, I'm probably the only one here who this video puts in a semi-good mood. This is for two reasons: One, ignorant people like this just make me giggle. Two, and most important, after a recent counter-protest, Megan Phelps "tweeted" that my sign was her "new favorite absurdist sign!" ^^
