i personally hope that there is going to be a democratic crack down, i have no sympathy for people who dont understand the simple concept of "guns are bad", the less guns there are in america then the less people are gonna get shot, noone can desput that.

i've said this many times before but "earth to america, guns kill people".

I can, in a fashion.

Make guns illegal and only criminals will have guns. Criminals tend to not follow the rules. If a woman has a gun on her, she's less likely to get raped. Saying "I have a gun" tends to cause the rapist to back off, and if not a bullet to the face tends to end the discussion quite quickly.

i never said they should ban guns, i just said guns are bad, what i am suggesting is that some gun laws should be put forward in america to control how much is too much, i.e. more background checks, licenses, and maybe background checkes should hold more clarity.

Laws the prohibit the sales of certain guns to law-abiding citizens? Don't see why. Especially with the fact that criminals will STILL get the illegal weapons.

I'd like to see the statistics that a woman about to be raped is more likely to get shot if she has a gun.

we dont always need statistics, we still have our common sense surely. we had a campaign here in the UK about knife crime that had statistics saying that you are 25% more likely to get stabbed if you carry a knife. and yes the criminals will still manage to get there hands on guns, but this is likely to be a very rare occurence, here in the UK i cant remember the last time i saw a crime on the news that involved a gun.

also why not have laws prohibiting the sale of certain guns, automatic weapons are already illegal here, and this helps prevent nutters from walking out into the street and taking out 40 people with a single magazine.

and i still havnt seen you desput the fact that if there are less guns in america then less people will get shot.

You'd think that even a meager stockpile would be enough for any gun owner... Not owning a gun myself, I'm sure I've got a skewed view of the situation, I suppose some could spend time at the firing range the same way others go fishing, or play video games...

Although it does seem to paint the picture of conservative middle-America the same way that southern "south will rise again" revolutionaries are viewed, in my mind at least.

Call me naieve, but even with ammo caps per visit, you can still slowly stockpile much more than you will feasibly use before any sort of zombie/civil-war/US-Invasion/republican-national-convention/Apocalypse occurs.

now if Obama could only scare people into other sales through legislation, I presume the economy could only go up!

I never thought I'd see the day when the USA runs out of bullets but wow..this is some really scary stuff. Not merely because the the US is facing a bullet shortage but the fact that it's causing a panic. I for one understand the second amendment and the reasons behind it but surely, unless everyone in America is going hunting I don't see the reason for panic, let alone why the gun-industry people have to title such a thing as "Obama Rush".

Unless the dead start rising I think that this is a bit overrated and hardly calls for a civilian panic. Or am I missing something?.

I agree that it seems a bit out of hand, but y is it out of hand, to my knowledge, the American Population has not incised significantly in the last years for a 2billon ammo usage. so where is this shortage coming from, i doubt that is stricter gun law.

Eh, it's hard to pile up ammo with one or two boxes per visit. Considering an hour at the range is a few hundred rounds and a day of shooting can easily hit the 2k mark, buying 50 round boxes of ammo at a time is very hard to do
