Best of luck to the Amnesia team, anyway. They deserve sales. Though, will it be selling for $20 retail? I wonder if that won't put off some distributors afraid of "budget" titles...

Wow, Yahtzee was right, the box art is awful compared to others, yeesh.

It actually ruins the game a bit by SHOWING THE MONSTER, which the game outright avoids doing.

I was hoping I had found a parody of US boxart, not the ACTUAL box art for the US release.

WHAT JUNKY BOXART.

WHAT THE HELL.

They broke three rules:
1. They made it montage-style.
2. They revealed the monster.
3. They drew the monster all wrong.
Remember, american boxart sucks.

OT: i might consider buying this now if my computer can handle it.
Use this thing.

It's not perfect, but it typically works.

That mutant on the front is really... really bad...

Still, I'd buy this if I thought I could ever play it, but Penumbra scares me enough.

Anyway retail copies are always good for people who don't want to buy using digital download ^_^
I know, part of the terror of amnesia was that I didn't know what I was running from at the beginning. That box art takes that out a little, in my opinion.

So it's not coming to console?

I was excited until I saw it was PC only. My computer sucks, I'll never be able to play it that way... :(

This is SO much nicer. Hopefully a mind will change somewhere before this thing comes out. Either way I'm buying it but wow. How could you say no to this?
The same way somebody said "yes" to the Mass Effect boxarts :p

Took the words right out of my mouth.

My thoughts upon seeing this box cover:

1. So that's what Daniel looks like.
2. The monster's lower jaw is a lot more...attached to his face than I remember.
3. Given that the whole point of Amnesia is that unless you find a glitchy spot, you can go the entire game without getting a clear view of a Gatherer's face for more than a split second before you die horrible death (I know that I never did, I have youtube videos to thank for that), the fact that a Gatherer is on the box art is just...wrong.

But other than hurp derp Gathurerp, I'm excited that it's getting a retail release. Amnesia needs all the exposure it can get. :) Unfortunately, this box art will most likely hurt sales.

I know it's already been said by virtually everyone on this board, and also coincidentally by Yahtzee just a week or so ago, but...

God that box art is terrible. Just...ugh. The whole game is about what you imagine you see, not what you actually see, and when you slap one of the monsters right there on the cover, that just takes all the wonderful subtlety the game had and bends it over the counter.

That reminds me, I gotta grow a pair and finish the game. Haven't been scared like that since the mannequin room in Silent Hill 3. YOU KNOW THE ONE I MEAN.

If I saw that box, I would think it was a pure action game, which it is NOT...
Picture this: a dark hallway, a lantern turned on and you would be able to see a few meters (and then perhaps see some feets just outside of the light)... Wouldn't that make much more sense for this game?

I know what you mean, I only played it for a little while, and it will perhaps be a little while before I pick it up again x.x

I think they should stick with the fake(?) box art. It's much more subtle and interesting.
It's friggin awesome that they're getting a box release though :D
I think this is the perfect American/European box art difference that Yahtzee wrote a collumn about recently. That American one is so in your face and so missing the point, whereas the European one is subtle, minimalistic and gives a good idea of what the game is about.

Exactly what went through my mind.
It's pretty bad if the monster reminds you of a mummified version of
