I bought it twice, for me and for my friend cause I wanna support indie developers. And I'm gonna buy it again because this is a title one must own in a box.

So it's not coming to console?

I was excited until I saw it was PC only. My computer sucks, I'll never be able to play it that way... :(
Well, download the demo and see if it can manage it, this isn't Crysis we're talking about, more like Half-Life 2.

Also, I must crush your dreams about the console version since the gameplay depend heavily on mouse-movement. But then again, they ported Torchlight to Xbox 360 and consoleowners really need to be relieved of the agony of violin playing action horror and experience the true meaning of videogame horror.

I'm glad to see the game is getting more publicity and hopefully generating more sales, but good lord the box art is hilarious. It doesn't exactly scream "This game is terrifying" when you've got that weird monster on the front.

other than that the box art is not really good, 20 fucking dollars! that's a lot less than the average game and this time you get something better too!!

I think they should stick with the fake(?) box art. It's much more subtle and interesting.
It's friggin awesome that they're getting a box release though :D
THIS. I can't belive that horrible thing is the actual box art. It completely ruins the experience and the mysteriousness of what lies in the shadows. Now many people will think that the game is plagued bypedophiles who were struck by a truck.

I gues that the stigma of american box arts hasn't waned after all.

Okay...someone should seriously start a petition or direct appeal or something to Frictional Games to make sure that that box art NEVER reaches the shelves.

I mean, it's beyond just bad aesthetics, it gives away the appearance of one the game's only enemies and makes it look ridiculous to boot.

Apart from the absolutely horrid box art, this is the best news I've heard in a while! Canada's damn download limit is the only reason I don't have this game yet; at least now I can go buy it and not be mauled by my internet for it.

...the more I look at it the more I hate that box art. I think I'm going to print out that gorgeous fake art and glue it onto the box.

This is SO much nicer. Hopefully a mind will change somewhere before this thing comes out. Either way I'm buying it but wow. How could you say no to this?
There's just so much beauty to the rose in the puddle there plus it leaves questions about the game.
A mind had better change.

So that's what Daniel looks like hmm...but what did they do to Mr.face his face isn't nearly as scary and deformed as it is in the game, probably censors of some kind I suppose...

Edit: Not exactly the best but I think the russian box art is an improvement over the THQ version.
Ooo.. that's pretty nice, but the castle feels a little overdone especially since there's suppose to be woods around it.
If you play the game and look out the window all you see are trees and a TON of fog.

That's great. I hope it does well.

With all the effort put in to the game though, that box cover art does not make justice. To anything.

I think that's the European box art, and the OP's is the American one. I think.

Like I said not perfect but still better than the american box. I already own the game so the box art doesn't affect me very much, but it could prove to be counter productive in sales for people just browsing the pc section at a walmart, I mean if I saw that game without any prior knowledge I'd never pick it up since the cover makes it seem more action-y than it really is.

Its been released retail in Poland and not in America? THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER.

The box art of the polish retail... well, box.
Why is it still called Amnesia in english despite bieng polish?
and WTF BOX ART PEOPLE!
Ill gladly answer the question!
"Amnesia" translates to "Amnezja" which is quite similar, so even with different spelling everyone could work it out... but then, weirdly the subtitle is still there in english and underneath you can find the polish translation. It looks like clusterfuck but whatever.. costs only like 10? anyway, for such a game its a steal!

I bought this on Steam, largely because of Zero Punctuation, and wouldn't have minded afterwards if I hadn't. Amnesia was great until you first encountered the "monster". Yeah, it's every bit as stupid as it looks.

It's frustrating actually... how hard is it to portray a damn SHADOW without going into veiny monstery bullc--p? Can't agree with Yahtzee.

Or to put it another way: if you were like me during "Lord of the Rings" and thought the Balrog looked like something out of a panto, don't even bother trying "Amnesia". I guarantee you'll be spitting blood.

Eh, I saw some videos of the game and watched a friend play it. Maybe you have to play yourself to really get into it, but it didn't seem all that scary to me. Yes the lights were out. Still, it sold well, and maybe this will get more people to play, which is never a bad thing.

Wait... So this is a Vampire the Masquerade-game?

The US box art is about as terrible as it can get. A lot of people argued in that one Extra Punctuation that there's a point to box art that can convey what the game will be about, and who's starring. And I get that. Hell, sometimes I think the in-your-face box art is just plain better than trying to be artsy about something with no artsy elements to it.

But in this case... There's a picture of one of the monsters on the packaging... The monsters you can never let get close enough to spot. That's not representative of the game :(

The box art, if that really is the box art, isn't great, but it is a nice option for those weirdos out there who think that a box and a disc are an important part of the whole "game ownership" experience.
Well, considering you don't actually own a game if there is no physical product involved...yeah, I'd say its a preety important part of the experience.

Anyway, WAW! They are releasing this game at retail? And for only $20? Waw, I might actually get this, especially after all the good things I heard about it!

It would seal the deal for me if it had no DRM (including Steam). Somehow, though, I don't think THQ is going to be that generous....Maybe if 1C Company released an English version...
