For two things with my one big gaming friend.
1. Being slightly poor at competitive play and compensating with general derangement. Example, Bad Company 2. He wanted me to try it, so at his house, I gave it a go. While assuring me you have to play the game 'right' with 'tactics' and 'skill', I happily grabbed a quand bike, drove straight down the center of the map, turning only to avoid the enemy tank right in front of me before sprinting back up the map and diving into a well amongst the enemies' stronghold. Thus, you can survive without 'tactics' as long as you're unpredictable.
2. Not reading manuals and the issues that arise from that. Two good examples here. First Dead Rising and not knowing you could tell survivors to go/wait somewhere, which makes the escorts A LOT easier. And my personal favourite and the one he always slags me about, Oblivion. For the first 5 or 6 hours of my playthrough, I knew not of any 'fast travel' function. But one day, I was showing it to him and while looking at the distance on the map that had to be made for the current quest, he says "Could you not use that fast travel button?" I was silent for quite some time after that...
