There have been a few threads sparking up about how to have a perfect world, all with equally stupid ideas: drugs; alcohol; nuke everyone else.

The truth os that the only way to world peace is if every man, woman and child, great or small, had an equal say in everything and everyone else were willing to drop their ideas for a moment and consider another person's point of view. However, we all know this can never happen, as there will always be someone who dsires greater power and will, through dirty deeds, obtain such power so he can rule by administering his own ideas.

So, who else is with me? Can we stop making these idiotic threads and agree that the only effective method is the most impossible one?

No, as if you accept an impossible solution as the best, I could come up with a better one. Like everyone has an infinite amount of everything.

I chose to believe that the only "perfect world" would be one with a perfect and complete hive mentality, an absolute dictatoship with 0 corruption and 0 disobediance. It is the only way, and it absolutely crushes free will, therefor impossible.

Sorry but that is one of said stupid ideas. if they have infinite money they'll buy infinite weapons to kill eachother. As the Jackal said in Farcry 2 "As long as there's 2 men still alive, one man will want another killed"

*Single tear*

Yes... it's true. That would be best. And yes, you see it's impossible. I'm with you! Down with the stupid threads.

Very true. One the reasons hive insects have the most peaceful societies among any other creature is because there is no struggle for power. The fact they have no free will and practically have their destinies determined by whichever tier they were born into lessons the chance of one leading a revolution, killing the queen, and then essentially dooming their own existence.

Go live in the mountains, kidnap the people you like, bring internet, bring fire, a rifle with infinite ammo and live in a town next to forest where you can hunt and get water.
In the town will of course only the people you've kidnapped live.

That would actually be horrible.
We'd all die out in a week.

The majority of people are really, really stupid. Me (and most likely you) included.
You do not want to spread the say in things out equally.

And no, we can never stop making stupid threads.
See above for reason.

So essentially, one impossible idea is better than another impossible idea? I could have said everyone gets a separate dimension of earth where they rule. I could have said that everyone lives in a matrix thing where they never die. It's irrelevant because the probablity of said event is indefinably low.

While that's a decent ideal, you'll quickly find that children are too easily swayed to be of any use in deciding politics, and that you'll have a crapload of conflict as no one will agree on anything (you know, pretty much like normal democracy; hence, the 'majority wins' system). The main problem is the nature of people; most don't want to think about the other person's point of view.

At any rate, this is at least way better than the "give everyone drugs" suggestion. Poor on the execution, but at least a good ideal.

A perfect world always seemed like a rather dangerous idea, perfect by whose definition?

People don't achieve things by striving for perfection, though it is often used as a counterargument against any possibly change by idiotic populist politicians. IE, if a solution isn't perfect then it should be discarded, even though a perfect solution is actually impossible, wiki even has a page devoted to this fallacy, the perfect solution fallacy.

If one wants change (hopefully positive change) then the only thing you can do is devote your entire life to that one thing, and hope that you will see the positive effects within your lifetime, it takes a god damn long time to get any serious groundwork and even longer to actually convince some people your ideas might be a good thing. In a real humanistic world there is no quick fix to anything, particularly when you are dealing with difficult societal issues.

Im with this idea, silence is golden. Lets give it a try for...oh say 2 weeks, no one post a single thing.
silence is golden says the one with over 9000 posts ;D but i kid :3

@topic

letting people have a say in everything is pointless because people suck. if your gonna do that you need to teach people to be better people first and foremost before anything else.

and if you want to do that you then have to define what a person is and then how to improve on the current analysis. but alas people will just use different forms of analysis that they claim to be superior to give the illusion of improvement because "people" are lazy.

Your impossible solution would cause humanity to reach the wrong conclusion more often then they do now. Most people lack deep knowledge or understanding of every dilemma and inconvenience our species faces. The real reasons the world is not perfect are we live in an amoral universe that doesn't care about its inhabitants, and we are an intrinsically evil species incapable of maintaining any long-term improvements.

Well that just means we have to change the question.

How do we make a better world?
