I think that if done CORRECTLY and not just an excuse to use gratuitous amounts of controversal material (whatever form it may take), than it can be good and enjoyable.

First question, do you even think an M-Rated Zelda game would work

Second question, if there were an M-Rated Zelda game, what would you be expecting to see? (pick as many as necessary)

A) Swearing
B) Blood
C) Gore
D) Tits/Ass/Genitalia
E) Sex
F) Dark depiction of Link
G) Other
H) All

No.
Seriously, that would be like making M-rated Sonic, or M-rated Mario. It just wouldn't work.
It'd be hilarious, but it wouldn't work.

I don't see a reason as to why it should be rated M. Games should be rated based on what is in the original content. Content shouldn't be created just to give a game a mature rating.

This idea is about as good as Mickey Mouse on Bugs Bunny pornography.

My thoughts exactly.

The Legend of Zelda can become more outlandish, shown by some of the character designs in Twilight Princess. I can see a Legend of Zelda game with the enemy designs being more like something out of a tale by H.P. Lovecraft.

No, however I'd like to see a true M version of Oblivion or the next Elder Scroll. Make me feel like I'm swinging a real sword that's deadly instead of one of those ones in fighting games that only knock people out.

Exactly. The Zelda games have always been good because of that odd combination of Campy and Badass.

While we're at it, give the Teletubbies shotguns and send them to Darfur.
I would play that - I would play that so much - I'd have kids just to make them play it.

That and Blues Clues: Manhunt Edition
Don't forget Barney: The Bloodthirsy Dinosaur.

No no no no no no.

Why would we need this? Plus let's not forget when Nintendo attempted a "grimdark" game and we got Twilight Princess.

I really don't think so. T ratings work, of course (Twilight Princess showed that), but none of the things in that list are necessary or really desirable in a LoZ game...exception maybe a "dark depiction of Link" (whatever that is).

I thought it was crazy when I saw Twilight Princess was rated T. An M-rating on a Zelda game would be blasphemy, insanity, and other words related to either of those.

Although I would buy it faster than fast food.

If there were an M-rated zelda I would be looking for these.

Sorry to be flat-out here.

ATTENTION OLDER FANS OF NINTENDO GAMES: Nintendo has and always will, make games for kids. You had no problem with this as a kid and neither do the younger generations. Sonic Unleashed, may be the worst game ever but it's got what any kid would want, running really fast + Werwolves. Please let them do their thing and market to their market, thank you and good day.

Now that this is done, I suppose it could work if Nintendo hadn't already set it up as a kids franchise.
