This is one of the most darkly hilarious things. I want to watch it. And laugh.

Oh how I'll laugh.

This looks fucking amazing. I had to watch it without any sound.
I'm not going to lie (I'd never do anything like this) this is the kind of stuff I think about in my pre-cal class. Like the class, and the teacher, but I sit at point-blank range of some of the stupidest, most annoying people.
The math is easy, the only hard part is having to listen to, "Then I was like waaaaiiit, no you didnt. You think you're pretty, well I have news for you. You're not. Oh my god, she's sooo crusty. She's sooo crusty." "Oh my god she is." *Imagine that in the winest tone possible*

Wow, holy shit, is this for real? I actually find the general concept pretty intriguing... and awesome. However, this is the type of movie that really requires a responsible audience in order to be fairly appreciated. SOOO many people can take it the wrong way in either direction. I would just hope that the actual movie doesn't glorify murder quite to the extent that the trailer does and ultimately shows the downside to the lead characters' actions as well.

I think what they're saying is that it isn't super normal or healthy to think nonchalantly about killing people who annoy you.

Ha! That's from the old Weird Al song. The scene name I use for all my new stuff now is "Mr. Brightside"

I'm nonchalant about everything. Do be honest, I don't think I have what it takes to kill.
Really, don't get me wrong.

this looks really dumb
and i say that mainly because of the the scene in the parking lot. I mean EVERYONE agrees that people who park like shit on purpose are despicable. No reason to kill him, just slash his tires or something.
also if you kill a bunch of hate mongering idiots for their believes you make them right.
unless the movie does a total 180 in the third act and turns on itself. But unless i read of the kind somewhere i will stay clear of this

Quote: "Let's hope you'll be tempted to do what he almost did at the beginning instead."

How is that warning worthy? Telling someone you'd rather if they killed themselves than a bunch of innocent (if annoying) people is somehow wrong?

OT: It just looks way too simplistic and not at all well thought out, it's a movie based on one joke, "hey, let's kill all the stupid/annoying people cause we can".

And girl aspect from Leon? More like Super. Hell, the whole movie screams Super, with all the depth ripped out - take out the superhero motif, change the character's motivation to a brainless "because I can", broaden the target range to annoying (Super even had a moment like that, though an actually meaningful one) and apply one solution to everything - shoot them.

The brainlessness of this movie is simply ironic. I get the idea behind it, but it's such trash without a touch of depth, the people making it fall into the category of the people they're getting rid of in the movie. And no, that's not the joke of it.
Let me put what he said a simpler way, a way more familiar to the internet:

"Go kill yourself"

And that's a big no-no.

And the movie is satirical. Bet you anything the guy gets taken out in the end because his actions ironically caused him to be everything he hated. Example of "When you hate those who hate, you become nothing more than a hater yourself."
Nope. He said "Let's hope you'll be tempted to do what he almost did at the beginning instead.". If people actually passed a few English comprehension classes (see: tenses, instead), they might understand the difference between "go kill yourself" and "if you ever end up thinking of killing random people get you get an opportunity to do it consequence-free, I hope you kill yourself instead".

If anything, the OP's in the wrong here for saying "oh, I can totally get behind killing annoying innocent people". That's psychopathic. What the guy replied is perfectly normal.

And I get the movie's satirical, but it just gets there in the most brainless way possible, at least by the look of the trailer. There might be more exposition in the actual movie, but considering they're not going out of their way to show even a bit of it, I'm placing my bets on it simply being brainless and happy that way.

Because God forbid someone uses a child actor in their movie?
Seems that particular point went way over your head, if you'd seen Leon you'd know exactly why myself and others make that comparison.

This may very well be the best movie that was ever made.
Well that certainly proves that you're part of the culture this film is against.

Seriously, This film couldn't be more ironic if it tried. It is exactly the kind of Mindless, Moron-Magnet bullshit that it's trying to satire, If anything this film is worse because not only is it buried deep in its own ass, it thinks it's making some philosophically poignant social commentary.

What

A

Joke.
Very much this, the lack of self-awareness in that trailer is very telling.
Maybe it is self aware and it wants to bait people into making fun of it! (I really hope so).

To be completely honest, this film seems geared at my humour, but even I had trouble laughing at it. Maybe its because it's pretty much ripped off super in everything except he doesn't dress up as a superhero and that he isn't rescuing anyone.

For anyone who can't be bothered to read a couple lines, I think they've ripped off super, hard.

edit:

Oh dear, I seem to have commented before I caught all the people complaining about this film for apparently sending the wrong message. Killing people who disagree with you? Wondering how anyone could want to kill anyone for simply annoying them?

Guys, seriously, have you seen anyone play GTA? Hell, my university class has people in who everyone agrees wouldn't be missed if they "accidentally" fell on a knife. Does that make us all psycho's? No, of course not. It was precisely the reason we can joke about what annoy's us and not do it that makes us normal.

Hell, i'd be more worried about the people who don't want to jokingly kill people. They might actually do it.

The trailer gives the opposite impression and reading reviews (I've even posted some in this thread) they seem to agree.

It does have funny bits but it's exactly the same thing it's gone about attacking.

Actually it was more along the lines of.

Statement: (Im tempted to do what is done in the movie, although I could never go through with it)

Response: (You should do what he almost did at the start of the movie, and go through with it)

Statement talks about how he is tempted to do mass-slaughter

Response says that for being even tempted he should commit suicide.

To those who are disgusted with its message...

Why don't you go get mad at Fight Club?

Nononon.

Fight Club is Srs Bsns. It's not about the collapse of capitalism or the rise of the Proletarian, it's all about mind games. Because the 'Holy shit he IS Tyler' is all 90% of the people who watched or read it took away.

People really don't seem to get that film.
i'm not sure what you're trying to say here, and i either really agree or kinda hate you. the tyler durden reveal is not what that book is about, it's so much deeper. the thing you say it's NOT about, it totally is.

and in the book, you can figure out the reveal way before the end, little things here and there give it away.
