Well, if I was one of those boys father, and they would have gotten to the point of doing that. I'D make sure they'd crawl on their knees to her house and apologize.

Now on the other hand, if i was on that bus, probably first tell em they should nut the fuck up. If that don't work and they come start that shit on me, beat them just as far under the ground as they are above it now.

This shit always gets my blood boiling

EDIT: What I was wondering; why didn't the buss driver pull over and kicked those sorry excuses for a waste of perfectly good space out the bus?

Except it isn't mostly self-entitled little shits. You're almost as bad as the minority of kids like those in the video.

OT: I could say my kid wouldn't have behaved like that but I don't know that. All I know is that those little kids clearly have no sense of decency. Thankfully they are a minority of people and are overly-represented in the media. It's awesome to hear that people are willing to raise money for her though.

Bunch of wankers. I blame parents wanting to be their "friends" and not their goddamn parents. It's easier to give kids what they want instead of keep saying "no" when they have a tantrum. I remember when I had a tantrum when I was a kid. My mum and I were buying groceries, I wanted sweets and she said no and I had a tantrum. My mother couldn't give a fuck, said I could cry as much as I wanted to and continued shopping. I was so scared I shut the fuck up.

Parents do spoil their kids to much. I'm just angry.

EDIT: I don't mean "parents this generation" . I really do mean Parents throughout history
Actually, at least here in Germany, it kinda is a bigger problem right now than it was in the few generations before. It has something to do with the turning away from the very authoritarian style of raising kids from the first half of the century swinging a bit too far to the other extreme after the 68-movement in Germany. I don't know if the USA for example had something similar but if they did you might have the same problems. Actually, this:

I blame parents wanting to be their "friends" and not their goddamn parents. It's easier to give kids what they want instead of keep saying "no" when they have a tantrum.
... might indicate that there are some similarities (I'll just assume that RustlessPotato is American) because that is basically the point where it goes wrong. Here in Germany the first generation of kids having been brought up in an anti-autoritarian style are now bringing up their own kids in a similar way and damn does this lead to problems.

There is a somewhat famous German child and adolescent psychiatrist (link in German: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Winterhoff ) who made a pretty successful book series out of that though it is not without criticism.

So in conclusion: It is possible that it actually is worse with this generation of kids. That there is a way bigger amount of early infantile narcissism (no idea if I translated that correctly) in today's teenagers. Possible. No idea if it is indeed like this.
Oh, I'm from Belgium actually :D. But I think a lot of countries have problem with youth. Luckily I live in a city that almost exclusively for University an University life, so people can be quite pleasent and are usually a bit more mature, but when I left my old town when I was 18, the kids between 12-16 really became spoiled brats, very disrespectful against their teachers.

It could be true that this generation might be worse, I don't know German Culture very well, but I have been to Berlin a couple of times and youth did seem different then what I'm used to. Especially with the "throw-it-away" culture that has been established. "Oh, you're thing is broken ? Here son, I'll buy you a new one." or " Oh, you have the model 3, but the model 4 is out ? i'll buy you that ".

What I find strange is that my friends and I are all between 20 and 22 and the kids we're talking about are like 12-16. The age difference really isn't that big, yet we call them "the new generation".

Here is an update, in case no one else has posted it.

OT: If one of them were my kids, I would take away everything that means something to them (phone, TV, game consoles). If it upsets them, then it's a taste of their own medicine. I'd sit them down and ask how they would feel if someone started picking on them like they did to her. I'd probably show them the video and point how disgusting they are and how ashamed I am of them.
I'd ring the school and make sure they keep my child away from those friends and let them punish them how they see fit.
Then I'd march them to that ladies house and demand they give her a sincere apology.

However, I wouldn't raise a child to be an absolute **** like that.
I did see a girl of about 9 or 10 flip me off on the school bus the other week... there's so many horrible little children about, it's depressing to think about it.

So now not only did she get 100k, but those assholes will receive the Jesse Slaughter treatment.

They will basically be attacked on the internet, attacked in real life, and the info of their family will be hacked too. Bank accounts being emptied, Facebook being hacked, real life harassment, etc. The most unimaginable torture you will have to endure for the rest of your life because your info will be in the public eye.
What the fuck? Yeah, the kids were assholes, but they don't deserve "unimaginable torture". I really hate this new internet vigilante justice system we have that apparently only targets petty jerks.

Every kid is a self entitled little shit. Your generation isn't superior. Yes, their behaviour is disgusting, but I highly doubt you weren't ever a disgusting shit yourself. I'm not targeting you, by the way.

If I had a child, and said child acted in a manner such as this, I would beat it from one end of the house to the other and make it walk to school everyday for the rest of the year. What's that Jimmy? There's a blizzard? Well that sucks for you.

While stuff like this happens fairly often in the schools these type consequences don't. The kids might not deserve all of the things that happened to them as a result of this but I guess it's a "See what happened to them? Don't do it." sort of situation.

There needs to be tougher laws/school policy for harrasment. The only thing people this insensitive are going to understand is straightforward punishment as they clearly lack the mental faculties/upbringing to achieve any significant level of understanding, compassion or remorse. Make the little fuckers clean some disgusting toilets and clear away trash for a couple of weeks, if the behaviour continues, introduce even greater consequences until it is extinguished.

Obviously, conditioning school children is no simple task, but making their lives fairly miserable as a consequence for their actions will work for the majority of 'em in my opinion. Copout PC-culture punishments like writing lines or detentions do not really provide any benefit. Boredom is not a particularily powerful experience, cleaning someone else's piss off a bathroom floor certainly is. If my parents or grandparents acted in such a disrespectful manner, a viscious old nun would strike them across the forearms with a big leather strap. Physical punishment has no place in modern society, but you see the point I am making, our generation faces no meaningful consequences when growing into adults. It's a recipe for a society of sociopaths.

Maybe these kids will develop into half-decent human-beings as they get older, but judging by pretty large portion of my peers, I doubt it. We generally make the Me-generation look like a bunch of tamborine-shaking Ghandis and Mother Teresas.

Your parents' generation said the same, your grandparents' generation said the same, etc.

No matter how much I hate kids, I hate generalizations.

That is disgusting, and those little shits need a fist in their face.
I'm 17 and my dad would still attack me if I was anywhere near that much of a fuck bucket.

If I were a father, and it became apparent my children were anywhere near that bad, I'd toss them into the wilderness for a few days with a knife and the clothes on their backs. If they're my kids, they'd be fine.[footnote]What child protection laws? :D[/footnote]

exactly, a good parent teaches their children right from wrong and obviously these kids' parents failed miserably. what a shame.

So I'm turning 20 this september, does that make me part of this generation? Because I've never understood the method of measuring that shit.

But yeah, those guys were dicks. But y'know, there's always dicks. It's just now that youtube is so ubiquitous we can actually see them all the time.
Don't write a whole generation off just because of a few cunts.

It's not kids, it's people in general. It stops (or doesn't in some cases) at adulthood for many bullies because they know they can't get away with it anymore.

Maybe because they've chosen to be very fat, and publicly noting their lack of self-respect can be very funny for a moment. What did that lady expect would happen? Nobody respects you if your body and body language says you don't even respect yourself. If someone who's so fat they need a wheelchair takes 5 minutes to pay for their crisps, snacks, beers and other reasons why they're in that wheelchair, I also start saying stuff like "Fat chance of us getting these groceries paid in a hurry". If people can't deal with even that, they clearly need to grow thicker skin. Look at how they talk and how she reacts to confirm their behaviour. One look would've silenced those kids, but if you read the body language of that woman, she knew they were right, took a submissive posture and then tried to get angry from a low-status approach. That never ever works.
It doesn't make sense to write stuff like that when your face itches. You can't get slapped over the internet.

I wish I didn't belong to that generation (at least I think I do but who knows maybe there younger than me since I'm in my mid 14-16 teens) *sigh* I die a little bit when shit like this goes down.

And on top of the moral and social problems of those kids present they just don't get how to be a proper douchebag, I mean, it's all wrong with the insulting for crying and fat jokes an' all... I feel the art of true douche-y-ness might be lost within the latest generation, and that's a damn shame.
