The melee attack since CoDWaW.
The lunge distance is just sick, and half the time, the friggan thing doesnt even touch you.

Not really a weapon but the last boss in tekken 6 was so fucking overpowered. Once he even scratches you; you might as well be dead. UMP-45 from mw2, it had a MAXIMUM 3 bullet kill regardless of anything apart from painkiller... I dunno, one of the assault rifles in BFBC2. The M16A2 i think it's called.
Or the AN-94? Hate that thing.
Yeah, also the AN-94 AKABAN. Both those assault rifles kill so fast i might as well be carrying a pea slingshot.

Boone in FA:NV. Didn't even bothering carrying a gun after meeting up with him.
He was killed by a Cazador in about two seconds when he was with me, I hate those things.

And I was pissed when I couldn't take his gun.

The Gauss Rifle in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. It's got a ten-shot magazine with a 4 1/2 second cooldown between each shot, a 7X zoom scope, and fires magnetically charged bullets the size of bricks out of an electric tube. Each bullet is armor peircing and custom-plated with an electrical tip, resulting in a recoiless-armor-peircing-fuel-economic-tankbuster-EMP-antimaterial-rifle that can insta-kill every enemy in the game as long as your shot lands above their waist.

Also, you can find a grand total of twenty bullets for it, on the corpse of the guy who was just taking potshots at you with it.
That is true, but if you get a headshot a pistol will one-shot a human.

MMM in sc2

i know i am one of the many who complains about it but there should never be a RTS where one faction only needs to make tier 1 units to beat most armies even with tier 3's. i switched to zerg because they are the only race that can hold up against MMM effectively

the pistol from Halo CE comes to mind, great game, over power weapon.

Pistol in Halo: CE. Srsly, that thing was stronger than most weapons (Rocket lawn-chairs and sniper rifles aside).
Ahah, I knew I would find a few of these...

I would argue that the pistol is hardly overpowered at all. Slightly, maybe, but overall, heck no. It has its own uses and if you know how to use it then you can capitalize on that.

One small example I can use is just that of how you use the weapons. Go for headshots, you will get a quicker kill using the pistol. What the hell is wrong with that? Who doesn't go for a headshot in any shooter game like this? They kill faster. Just cause the pistol kills fast like this too, its overpowered? Try shooting someone in the torso only with the pistol, and compare that to how long it takes to kill someone doing the same with an assault rifle. Same amount of time really, probably faster with an assault rifle actually. Weapons have their uses, their strengths and weaknesses. The pistol's strength was that of a quick headshot-kill ability.

The morning star in M&B Warband. While it can be used 1 handed, it is a monster as a 2 hander. The vertical attack goes through guards, does a LOT of damage, and it quite fast. Combine it with 2 board shields and a pike and you are set. The 2 board shields encase you so you are immune to archers (the 2nd shield covers your back). The pike stops all cavalry in its tracks if you poke their horse anywhere, leaving them open to a good smacking in teh face with your morning star.

I'm going with this. Once this dude joins you, it takes all fun and challenge from the game. That stupid, massive Laser Gatling Gun cuts down absolutely everything before you get a chance! Which means, no experience, which can get frustrating
if thats such a huge problem have him use a super sledge or just make him stand back during a fight

Nah, I can't be bothered issuing him specific instructions every time I find something to kill. Too lazy. I just got rid of him.

Weapon or power? I am going to bend the "rules" here a little.
Golden Gun from James Bond Golden Eye game... but that didn't seem overpowered because you had to re-load every single time and could carry only 3 or 4 bullets.
My vote goes to Force Lightning in Star Wars the Force Unleashed (first one) because when you had upgraded that half way you already owned everything and everyone.

I would say the Black Ops rendition of the AK74u did it for me, but it's not really overpowered, just really overused. Seriously, there are other guns in the game, people!

That said, the Buffalo Rifle a la Red Dead Redemption gets my vote. One hit kill, super accurate and manageable reload time (considering it's single shot only) and that's one hell of an OP'd gun in my opinion.
I would say in the second gun's case it's acceptably OP'ed, due to how it functions.

With the AK-74, though? It's the only "sub-machine gun" which you can strap a grenade launcher to and it's got the stats of an assault rifle, too. Combine that with the mobillity of a sub-machine gun and you've got an annoying weapon.

The super fighter(forget the name) from Ace Combat 6 the fact that all you had to do to unlock it was finish the game AND that it wasn't disabled for multiplayer make me weep.
Su-47?
I don't think so,
In Ace combat games there's usually a fictional experimental super fighter you can unlock by (normally) doing something difficult, or at least time consuming,
EG: Ace Combat 5 - you have to destroy certain non priority buildings during the course of the game to recover the parts
Ace combat zero - you have to complete every level with every Ace type, Knight, Soldier and Mercenary.
Ace Combat 6 - you have to... complete the game, once, on any difficulty.

This wouldn't be too bad but it has absurdly good speed and maneuverability easily out matching everything else in the game,
It also comes equiped with one of three super weapons, either a rail gun(not too bad high power hard to aim) a missle deflecting emp burst(again not too bad limited uses, didn't stop machine guns) and a multi lock any target missile system that if memory serves targets 12 indvidual targets, almost never misses and deals high damage,
The worst part is it could be used in multiplayer.
You're thinking of the CFA-44 Nosferatu. It was a little ridiculous. The railguns had wicked range and accuracy, and destroying large amounts of enemies was easy with the special multi-missiles. Plus, unlike other multi-missile special weapons, the Nosferatu's only took one... er... unit of ammunition per use.
THANK YOU!
I couldn't for thye life of me remember the name.

The Cross in Dante's Inferno, it killed everything in a few hits, had a huge range of attack, and was unlimited in use.

I don't think I used the scythe once in that game.

No problem. As far as Ace Combat's super planes go, the Nosferatu is definitely one of the better ones. Or at least one of the more destructive ones. Project Aces probably shoulda' kept it off multiplayer, though.

It's singleplayer, but the Dragon's Tooth in Deus Ex.

I haven't even put any points into low-tech weapons at all, and yet it still one hit kills most people. I've stopped using it, because it just makes the game too easy.
