What so it just filters the smoke even more... Is there really a need for it to be filtered more. Surely now your smoking even more to get the same nicotine "fix" as so much of it is filtered.

I'll stick to my little filters. Those things are good.
They just pull the tar out as the smoke passes through. I still get the entire nicotine fix, just no tar.

Nah, I find it hard to believe.

A two-year-old smoking 40 Cigarettes a day? I have been smoking pretty heavily for about ten years, but I could not do that once without beeing sick. And given that this kid just hat about 6 months to get used to it, and has a lung capacity way beneath mine, I call bullshit on that.

Things like that always sound horrible, some just sound very much unlikely
I don't know about that story as the original source is "The Sun", the most enlightning and reliable newspaper in the world.

But here is a 1 year old article on BBC news, telling the story of of a 3 year old boy addicted to smoke and the charges his mother faced when a friend filmed him smoking and showed to the social services.

Until today, I thought there wasn't anything wrong with smoking, all the studies had been rather biased (they still are) and smoking isn't as bad as they claimed. Today I got some proof that Cigarettes are in fact, dangerous, though I still don't believe it's quite as bad as they claim, it's still pretty bad.

EDIT: Oh, those are my filters by the way.
You're 18 and live in the current age, and thought the smoking stuff was a biased lie? Oh wow...I don't see why it required filters to show the effects of it. Ok they may be ever so slightly biased, but that's try and stop people from taking it up in the first place, given all the effects of smoking are in fact true.

It's quite possible, but i'd say it's a lower count. They don't smoke standard cigarettes in Indonesia (from what I've smelt) they seem to be something different and the fact that cigarettes over there are one of the cheapest commodities, it's not surprising that there aren't more children like him there.

Aren't ignorant primitives wonderful? The father is a lesser human being, a useless idiot. You don't have to be blasted with anti-smoking ads 24 hours a day to understand that inhaling smoke into your system might be a shitty idea. And giving it to a damn toddler...

I blame society

Smoking is pointless and bad for your health. Never do it ever
Pointless...not really...it works in the similar way to alcohol and coffee as a de-stresser.
Bad for you health - WHOA yeah.
Never do it? Also agreed

Kids smoking? That's fucked up.

(I'll support Adults choosing to smoke, but anyone under 18 doesn't have the life experience necessary to make that choice.)

They really aren't you know. It's entirely possible to reach 100 while smoking 20 cigarettes a day since adulthood.

What smoking DOES do is act as a catalyst to any disease that targets oxygenation of the blood, which is most of them. It also makes you smell, loses you money - BUT there has been no proof that it actually causes diseases - or at least any less than carbon monoxide or any of the other carciogens you run into daily.

If the amount of tar that adverts say is put into your lungs daily by cigarettes actually was, your lungs would be full of tar within two months. That's basic maths.

However, on my smoking record (stopped 6 months ago) means I've smoked roughly 100,000 cigarettes - and name any other substance that won't do hideous damage to you after that many. My level of health is actually higher than when I started smoking.

In Indonesia, a two year old toddler by the name of Arid Rizal, has taken up smoking when his father gave him his first cigarette at the age of 18 months. The child is said to be so unfit that he cannot play with other children due to a weight problem. The boys father, said he has seen no problems thus far, except he must have at least 40 cigaretts a day, or he starts banging his head against the wall claiming to feel dizzy and sick.

And some people think their child is starting to early, this boy is the poster child for underage smoking. According to sources, there has been an increase of smokers in Indonesia, between the ages of 4 and 9.
I'm sorry, the boys father says he has seen no problems so far? The child is so unfit that he can't play with others because of a weight problem, and if he doesn't get 40 a day HE BANGS HIS HEAD AGAINST THE WALL.

I'M PRETTY SURE THAT'S A HUGE FUCKING PROBLEM!!!

They're not 100% true, there are other factors that they DON'T take into account. It doesn't cause cancer at all, it increases your chance, but does not cause them. I'm getting cancer regardless, I have cancer riddled throughout both sides of my family, even the ones who never smoked, so even if it does cause cancer, I'd prefer to have it for a reason, not for something I couldn't control.
