controllers are waaaay too expensive to destroy. I suggest you find something different to take your frustrations out on, perhaps a pet, cat or dog, or maybe a small child. Whatever it is, ensure it is of a small to medium size which will sail across the room after a good kicking (cause that's much more satisfying). Also, if you use a small child, you probably won't cause as much collateral damage as they are softer and have less pointy edges to break your furniture/tv/etc.

Motorstorm 2 can be pretty hard, especially those damn eliminators. You gotta love it when you lead the whole race, and f**k up right near the end, when you can see the line. You end up smashing into some tree or rock or sign, get overtaken by 80% of the field, and end up in 10th place. Awesome fun. Funnily enough, I always go back and try again, I suppose it's because the races aren't that long, I don't mind redoing them to try and come in first.

Anyhoo, small children... just remember that and you should be fine.

Its not the hardware that I break from frustration, its the software. If I'm in a bad mood, I break incandescent light bulbs just by flipping the switch. Sometimes I'll do it twice in a row. I also killed a few MP3 players, though I'm not sure how I managed that.
And yet, I still prefer incandescent over those HORRIBLE flourescent tubes...

And just yesterday, I was searching for words in a PDF file, and It kept highlighting random things like, "It" and "Art History" and "Behalf o" 'n oddities like that.

Moral of the story: PMS+Electronics=mass destruction.
It seems you're a regular Dr. Grant when it comes to electronics.

I haven't broken anything pertaining to a game, whether it's the hardware or the software. I'm just too laid-back to fly into a rage over things.

Whose Dr. Grant? even a google search reveals no particular person.

Welcome to the escapist. I put a dent in my wall with a gamecube controller once.
Gotta hand it to them controllers, many of em can take much more damage than expected.

I'm really tempted to get that 360->PS3 controller converter. You've gotta give MS one thing, they did manage a solid controller. Well, except for the D-Pad.

I put an old Wavebird controller through the wall

Not into the wall mind you, THROUGH it, as in out the other side and into the other room.

Funny thing was it still worked.

Never broke a controller, but I have gotten the cops called on me for screaming obscenities at games.

Does it have to be 3? I've broken a PS2 controller (smashed it into little pieces, in fact) with Kamen Rider Kabuto and I've smashed a PS1 controller as well... though I don't remember the reason. That little bastard though didn't go without a fight; I cut myself with it, during my efforts and I still have the scar on my finger.

So, yeah, only two controllers, though that's not to say that I'm a calm gamer. I just prefer to break the game disks instead.

I threw my Xbox controller on the ground while playing Dead or Alive 3. The d-pad just didn't work after that.

I've destroyed my fair share of N64 controllers on Smash Bros. I think around 5.....
but some of those were from Mario Kart

I don't think I've broken any hardware since I was 12. I eventually figured out that losing my temper accomplishes nothing. So... Commodore 64 joysticks, I guess.

Though one time, again when I was young, I smashed a car window by slamming the door real hard. I did it from the inside and all the shattered glass landed right on me. That was neat. (Fortunately, the stuff was engineered not to produce very many sharp edges when broken.) Why? Because the store was apparently out of the batteries I needed for my radio control car and I had wanted one for ages. Maybe that was when I figured out just how pathetic losing my temper was.

No PS3, but...

Playing Gears 2, i've thrown my controller repeatedly into the wall above my TV, it finally broke down into a non-playable state, went out, bought a new one, and i smashed that one almost immediately, the 3rd controller also has some scratches, where i've thrown it accross the room.

Hi folks..

I was just wondering who holds the unofficial record in breaking ps3 controllers to smitherines and what game caused the frustration?

I've smashed 3 controllers meself, two of em whilst playing Battlefield Bad company and the last one when playing Motorstorm 2..

ps: this is my first post ever, so please be kind if any mistakes are made..
I feel like this might not be PS3 specific.. but hey, we'll roll with it.

I have yet to break any.

I have yet to show irresponsibility by breaking something on purpose.

I did however spill a coffee mug over my keyboard twice, stopped working, and destroyed my motherboard when I tried to update BIOS. It hung up on me and didn't boot up again.
