Have you been to Detroit? I was there in 2008 and it was a broken city. every other house was condemned and it was just a depressing place to be in. Think of this as a moral booster. Its letting anyone with a spare dollar feel like they are improving the city, which in my opinion makes this idea a great one.Brian Hendershot said:Wow...this is what you want to put up to improve the city of Detroit? That place was a dump before the automotive giants began to leave...
Just saying, you could do a hell of a lot more to improve Detroit then put a statue of RoboCop in it...
This. Is THIS why Detroit is so doomed financially?karloss01 said:i'd like to ask this question
Why?
Yeah, coz $55000 would go a long way to solving crime and poverty. Sheesh.this isnt my name said:Wow Detroit must be a utopia if that money cant be use to improve the actual lives of the people in any way aside from making a pointless statue.
Ah yes, "The Prime Directives."Trogdor1138 said:There were 4 movies (besides the original trilogy) which pretty much compiled a made for TV mini series. Most will tell you how awful it is, I always really liked it a lot despite the flaws, definitely worth a look, I thought it was probably the best use of the franchise besides the original film of course.
Anyways, this is pretty cool. Maybe it shall motivate people to clean up the streets more![]()
I can't argue with that sir.Hubilub said:You know just as well as I do that nobody can have true fun unless there is a grouchy principal around to frown at you pesky kids and your shennanigans.Tom Goldman said:Lighten up dude! We have fun here.Hubilub said:I can really feel the anger coming from the Citizens of Detroit! Grrrr-Oh wait, I can't, because they aren't angry. A couple of nerds were whining about their silly dreams not getting fulfilled, but they hardly warranted such a headline. Oh news, how you continue to mislead me.
James Bond was in Portugal once.... I suppose you could co-opt him since Britian isn't using him.marcogodinho said:That is bloody awesome! So in Japan they got Gundam, Detroit gets RoboCop. I wonder what Portugal´s cool statue would be...ok, nevermind.
Ah, but it's not my money, so personally I'm all for a statue to a sci-fi icon.this isnt my name said:It goes alot further than $0 but hey you want to throw money away be my guest.Karilas said:Yeah, coz $55000 would go a long way to solving crime and poverty. Well, you've got the Blue Bombers. But they haven't really been good since the mid-90s, have they? Still, they should at least have some great player from the past with some awesome nickname worth immortalising.Stammer said:Power to Detroit for getting an awesome statue like this. But now I'm suddenly really disappointed at my home town. Why the hell doesn't Winnipeg have anything worth showing off? The best thing we have is The Forks, and even that's shadowed by places like the Mall of America and the West Edmonton Mall.
lol, yeah...maybe we should just take Bond. As for Ireland, i can only think of one.The Bucket said:James Bond was in Portugal once.... I suppose you could co-opt him since Britian isn't using him.Theres probably some good Irish ones, but I cant for the life of me think of any.
