So I'm here sitting in my room listening to my housemate in the living room screaming at the tv because he died in Halo 3 again. Since I am on a massive solitaire losing streak I got to thinking instead.

When I play games, and when I die alot or reload ages before where I get up too, I get frustrated. But never frustrated to yell "Oh for fucksake!" loud enough for the neighbors to here.

I've watched my boyfriend play the same part of uncharted 2 over and over for about 20 minutes and he wasn't particularly perturbed about it. Certainly no yelling.

My brother on the otherhand is more like my housemate, will sit and swear at the TV even if it's just in single player. And it will put him in a really lousy mood. For ages.

I know that I hate playing co-op with these sort of people. No matter whose making the mistake it is they will start shouting, not necessarily at you, but it's hard to have fun with someone who is pretty angry.

So what do you think? Are you an angry gamer? Ever made your best friend cry during a co-op match? Ever had to endure a gaming session with someone that couldn't take the pressure?
I'm pretty angry, I can admit that, but I tone it way down if anyone is around, or I'm playing with someone I know. So none of that has ever happened to me. But I do get way into games and get extremely pissed at stupid deaths online. Single Players I really don't get pissed unless it's insanely stupid. Like the developer put it in there just to fuck with your head.

I have a pretty bad anger issue when it comes to video games.
I once gave my best freind a nose bleed by bouncing a ps3 controller off a wall which then hit him in the face (I know it seems unlikely but it really did happen) .
We're both easily frustrated and it doesn't help that we usually play NHL 09, three of my controllers have fallen victim to that game.(it's even worse than Ninja Gaiden)
That's awesome, I want a Video Game injury like that. I don't see how you could do it with a ps3 controller though >< they are pretty light. But I guess you'd get pretty good bounce..

And i wanna be the guy i got so pissed of at the mecha birdo and the vampire bosses :( but now ive given p because the metroid boss is fuckin impossible

The only times I rage is when there's something wrong with the game itself or I'm on CoD 4.

Tho when I rage on CoD4 I mostly just whisper swear words.

I very rarely rage on other games.
What is it about COD that makes us rage so much more when we're not doing well?

There is just something about it that makes people so competitive.

I wish they didn't keep all the stats. It's so easy to get neurotic about your K:D ratio and start raging.

I'm fine when I'm playing 1 player on a game that is relaxing eg. Lego Indiana Jones 2 but if I am playing single player on a harder game eg. Veteran on COD4, 5 or 6 then I will begin to swear when I start dying. Usually it's after 2 - 3 deaths I'll start swearing or if it's after a particularly stupid death then I may just mutter.

I seem to be getting more annoyed about loading times in Lego Indy 2 but that's just me.

And when I go online, doesn't matter what game, I will swear and I hate the fact that I do. I'm usually a very level headed person but as soon as I am playing some random people online I lose it. It's why I'm heading back towards single player games now and forgetting online. Games such as Oblivion and Dragon Age never made me angry and I enjoyed them loads.

The most common outbursts are "FOR FUCK SAKE" and "BULLSHIT".

Back in my slightly younger days I punched the table or yelled a bit. Nowadays though I just grumble a bit if I mess up, since I just started figuring that most of the times you die it's your own fault and not the game's so what's the point in yelling?

I have a, let's call him friend, who is fucking brilliant though. He plays Nes and Snes games on a common buddy's Wii and I've heard some hilarious stories about it. First of all, he kind of sucks at games, and he rages...a lot...every time. The best parts are his arguments though, get this:
He plays Zelda ALTTP, he gets killed by the skeletons, the bone-throwing ones. He gets raging about how it's not logical, or physically possible for the bone to fly in that angle.
To summarize: He's playing a fairy boy, weilding a magic sword of evil's bane, up to this point he has faced; demonized knights, monster bats, zoras and pirayha penguins. And his major complaint is that the game is ilogical and sucky because the bones from the undead skeletons don't follow the laws of physics. ^^

I am an "Angry Gamer" to the core. Only in SP though. It starts of with a few whispered FUs and giving the screen the finger during the reload screen (Ya I know but dammit it makes me feel better). Then it slowly escalates into yelling, pleading, bargaining and threatening.

In an online game I am as cool as a cucumber. The only time I get a bit pissed is when some asshole is spawncamping. Then I just usually leave the match

It usually takes a while for me to build up enough rage to start screaming. It's usually about 5-6 deaths at the same point over and over again. My screams are usually "AAWRRRGFFFFRRRAAAGGHGGHK! Then I take a break.

I don't yell when I'm getting bested by a game, AI or online, but I can get pissed off. I'll say "What bullshit that is" or something to that extent.

I do, however, get excited, especially with a microphone on my head. I turn into an announcer of sorts for my gaming experience. While I do have some hysterical moments, sometimes I wish even I'd shut up.

I used to play Counter Strike:Source Zombies in a vent server with a bunch of friends, and it was some of the funniest times ever...

Guess I kind of went off topic. So, no I'm not an Angry Gamer, just easily excitable.

Channel your rage. Rage leads to anger, anger leads to hate. And hate leads to the dark side of the force... which is awesome.

I don't know if I care enough about games to get qualifiably angry over them. Sure, when I die playing Megaman 9, I might swear at what occurs to be a cheap death, but it's more surprise than frustration.

Frustrating deaths? I turn off the game and walk away. Games are not worth getting that angry.

I'll be honest, I'm frequently angry on some games, FPS' get the most ire especially online. The most recent game was Killzone 2 and Rico, who I still want to die, horribly... in a fire...while reenacting a scene from Deliverance. But Some other games, like the Ratchet and Clank games, I'll not be as weary. It'll still piss me off but only when it gets REALLY cheap. But no matter how much I get angry, I'm able to calm down in minutes after turning the game off.

Depends on how i die. If its because the games fucked me over i'm like "well **** you you ****ing piece of **** i hope you die in a fire"

Then i happily resume my game playing. I don't actually get angry, i just enjoy saying it, it feels /right/
