Poor guy. Of all the Miyazaki's to be in, to get put in that one...
Hey, I love Howl's Moving Castle!

Also: Craig McCracken didn't direct Dexter's Lab, that was his college buddy Genndy Tartakovsky. Famous creator of Samurai Jack. Craig did work on Dexter's Lab though. Along with Butch Hartman(Fairly Odd Parents), Rob Renzetti(My Life as a Teenage Robot) and Seth McFarlane(Family Guy). That show helped springboard a lot of careers. =P

Oh and thanks for mentioning Phil LaMarr. Dude is my favorite voice actor, what really impresses me though is that he played both the likes of Samurai Jack and

He also plays Skips the Yeti in regular show. Kinda explains how he knows everything he does... He knows how to use the force and was a villain for a good while. ;P

More on topic: In addition to above...

Seth McFarlane was actually very nearly killed on 9-11, if it wasn't for a hangover and being given an incorrect departure time he would have wound up on one of the planes that crashed into the world trade center.

The cartoon Freakazoid actually was originally meant to become a serious series. Something to go along with the feel of Batman: The animated series. But somewhere along the line it became... Well Freakazoid.

Disney's Atlantis the Lost Empire takes a lot of cues from comic books for it's aesthetic, Vic Mignola of Hellboy fame even contributed to it. In addition, the movie was actually a VERY souped up pilot for a TV show. Sadly the movie wasn't well recieved enough to get a greenlight so we only got the direct to movie sequel that was supposed to kick off the TV series.

The show Hey Arnold was actually supposed to have a second movie, involved the characters going to the south Americas to hunt for Arnold's parents. The show was also supposed to have a sequel, The Pataki's which revolved around an older Helga who actually did eventually have a relationship with Arnold(they break up before the series start but are still friends) and who had moved from the city of the original show. It would focus on her dysfunctional family(perfectionist sister, overbearing and almost emotionally abusive father, and her Mom going to AA), it was never made as Nick thought it was too dark, MTV almost picked it up but decided not to. Thought it was too similar to Daria.

And... I think that is all. Pardon, I love this stuff.

The actor who voices Mr. Krabbs in Spongebob played the Kurigan (the main villain) in the Highlander movie.

Murdock from the A-Team voices substantial amounts of cartoon characters including Mung Daal from Chowder and Navigator Pressley from Mass Effect.

Popeye was created to encourage people to eat spinach because of its high iron content as a way to keep people fed during the Great Depression due to lack of real meat.

And finally some sad news... Maurice LaMarche (voice of The Brain from Pinky and the Brain) is the only person affiliated with the show to have never won an Emmy.

I'm pretty certain that he did win an Emmy recently.

Just confirmed he did. Won it 2012. Thanks for the info.

New fact then: If there is an animal noise in a cartoon, chances are it was done by Frank Welker.

The Dover Boys was the first attempt of Chuck Jones at making a funny cartoon. His studio nearly fired him for it. Ironically, the cartoon would later be revered as one of the 50 Greatest Cartooons, and Jones himself would become one of the most recognizable names in the industry. It's also rather anomalous in that it's one of the few Warner Bros productions to fall into public domain.
From his autobiography: The cartoon trope of exploding firecrackers/sticks of dynamite was based on a real guy who would sell hot dogs and sodas out of his desk (lined with aluminum foil) where Chuck Jones worked. People on upper floors would lower money and food orders out the window using a basket on a string. The guy would fill the order and they would start hauling it up. People on the in-between floors found out and would try and snatch the basket using a hook, so the guy would yank the basket back down, replace the food with a firecracker that had a long fuse, light it, and let it go. He was able to estimate the fuse length required so that it would explode right at the thief's window.

Probably the best part from his book was his cat named Johnson who one day came swimming out of the ocean and walked right up to their house on the beach. They never knew where he came from, only that he loved swimming in the ocean and eating grapefruit.

Optimus Prime and Eeyore have the same voice actor (Peter Cullen), who was also the first person to ever voice Mario.

Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman, was the first person to play Bruce Wayne and Batman with different voices, which was his own idea.

Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas was one of the original voice actresses for Sally in the Charlie Brown cartoons, and can still replicate the voice she used all those years ago.

As of Monsters Inc., every Pixar movie contains a clue as to what their next movie will be: Nemo appeared as a squeaky toy in Monsters, an Incredibles comic book appears in Finding Nemo, Doc Hudson was in the background of The Incredibles...

All the various McBain clips that are glimpsed during episodes of The Simpsons are all part of one movie that was viewable on YouTube until FOX filed a copyright claim.

All the signs and graffiti in Futurama that are written in "alien" languages are fully translatable.

And to add to that, the high iron content in spinach is a misconception, brought about by a typo. A misplaced decimal point made it appear spinach had 10x the amount of iron that was actually present.

May not exactly be an animated show, but the folks who are currently working on the new Toonami aren't getting paid to do so. They're doing it all out of love for Toonami and animated shows.

Also, in case you didn't know, Toonami is back. It replaced the Adult Swim's saturday anime bloc. Goes 6 hours, starting at 12AM on Sunday all the way to 6AM. Been back for about 8 months now.

Tim Curry voiced this dude! Sir Nigel Archibald Thornberry!
I knew he sounded familiar when I saw him in the American Duos episode of Psych.

Apparently Phil LaMarr was Marvin in Pulp Fiction.

Lauren Faust, the woman behind Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, MLP: FiM, and Codename: Kids Next Door, is married to Craig McCraken: Who directed Dexter's Laboratory, and the Powerpuff Girls, and also worked with Lauren Faust on Foster's and the Powerpuff Girls.

Bruce Timm, one of the directors for Batman: The Animated Series, stayed with the DC animated universe all the way through Justice League Unlimited.

Phil Llamar has voiced such characters as: Vergil Hawkins from Static Shock, John Stewart from Justice League, Osmosis Jones, Hermes Conrad and son from Futurama, the Judge from Family Guy, and none other than Samurai Jack himself.
To add to the part about Phil Llamar, he also voiced John White in inFamous. Just a little coincidence that he voiced an electro-kinetic superhero in one show, and then voiced a character in a game about an electro-kinetic superhero.

Aside from that, I really don't know any interesting trivia, which is why I had to piggy-back off of another user's post. Even then, my little tid-bit was only loosely related to animation. Thanks for the assist, Dreadman :p

The speaking voice of Jack Skellington is Chris Sarandon. You may know him as this guy:

Prince Humperdinck from The Princess Bride.

Vin Diesel Was The Iron Giant yeah i dint know that till i read that one cracked artical
Did you know the Iron Giant himself was designed Joe Johnston, the director of Jumanji, Jurassic Park 3, and Captain America?

Also, in both The Iron Giant and The Incredibles, Brad Bird snuck in cameos by two legendary chief animators for Disney called Frank and Ollie.

Only one I know is for Final Fantasy: Advent Children. One of the villains, Loz I think (don't kill me if I'm wrong), had a special program made as he has scenes where he accelerates to a high speed. However, they couldn't get him to move fast enough at the normal max acceleration so they slowed down all the other things that went on and sped the whole scene to make it appear he moved really fast.

Oh, also, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within main character Aki Ross was the first fictional character to become an "it girl" (whatever that is) as well as being voted into Maxim's top 100 hottest women. I will admit to not knowing whether that was listed with other fictional characters or not.

That people at Bungie started making Halo 3 before Halo 2 was even released.

Opinion:
They (apparently) use a group of the same ~20 voice actors for every anime dub. Seriously, name any 2 (reasonably known) shows that dont have atleast 1-3 people in common.
