Also: Craig McCracken didn't direct Dexter's Lab, that was his college buddy Genndy Tartakovsky. Famous creator of Samurai Jack. Craig did work on Dexter's Lab though. Along with Butch Hartman(Fairly Odd Parents), Rob Renzetti(My Life as a Teenage Robot) and Seth McFarlane(Family Guy). That show helped springboard a lot of careers. =PDreadman75 said:Snip

New fact then: If there is an animal noise in a cartoon, chances are it was done by Frank Welker.
From his autobiography: The cartoon trope of exploding firecrackers/sticks of dynamite was based on a real guy who would sell hot dogs and sodas out of his desk (lined with aluminum foil) where Chuck Jones worked. People on upper floors would lower money and food orders out the window using a basket on a string. The guy would fill the order and they would start hauling it up. People on the in-between floors found out and would try and snatch the basket using a hook, so the guy would yank the basket back down, replace the food with a firecracker that had a long fuse, light it, and let it go. He was able to estimate the fuse length required so that it would explode right at the thief's window.Asita said:The Dover Boys was the first attempt of Chuck Jones at making a funny cartoon. His studio nearly fired him for it. Ironically, the cartoon would later be revered as one of the 50 Greatest Cartooons, and Jones himself would become one of the most recognizable names in the industry. It's also rather anomalous in that it's one of the few Warner Bros productions to fall into public domain.
And to add to that, the high iron content in spinach is a misconception, brought about by a typo. A misplaced decimal point made it appear spinach had 10x the amount of iron that was actually present.DocMcCray said:Popeye was created to encourage people to eat spinach because of its high iron content as a way to keep people fed during the Great Depression due to lack of real meat.
...holy shit that just blew my mind.uneek said:2. will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas sang the vocals of the "Samurai Jack" theme song

To add to the part about Phil Llamar, he also voiced John White in inFamous. Just a little coincidence that he voiced an electro-kinetic superhero in one show, and then voiced a character in a game about an electro-kinetic superhero.Dreadman75 said:Lauren Faust, the woman behind Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, MLP: FiM, and Codename: Kids Next Door, is married to Craig McCraken: Who directed Dexter's Laboratory, and the Powerpuff Girls, and also worked with Lauren Faust on Foster's and the Powerpuff Girls.
Bruce Timm, one of the directors for Batman: The Animated Series, stayed with the DC animated universe all the way through Justice League Unlimited.
Phil Llamar has voiced such characters as: Vergil Hawkins from Static Shock, John Stewart from Justice League, Osmosis Jones, Hermes Conrad and son from Futurama, the Judge from Family Guy, and none other than Samurai Jack himself.
As well as George Takei, Andy Milonakis, Donald Glover, Matthew Broderick, Ron Perlman, Andy Samberg and more.Shinsei-J said:Adventure Time has some awesome guest voice actors for a cartoon network show including Weird Al, Mark Hamill, Donald Faison and Neil Patrick Harris.
