Also: Craig McCracken didn't direct Dexter's Lab, that was his college buddy Genndy Tartakovsky. Famous creator of Samurai Jack. Craig did work on Dexter's Lab though. Along with Butch Hartman(Fairly Odd Parents), Rob Renzetti(My Life as a Teenage Robot) and Seth McFarlane(Family Guy). That show helped springboard a lot of careers. =PDreadman75 said:

Seth McFarlane was actually very nearly killed on 9-11, if it wasn't for a hangover and being given an incorrect departure time he would have wound up on one of the planes that crashed into the world trade center.
The cartoon Freakazoid actually was originally meant to become a serious series. Something to go along with the feel of Batman: The animated series. But somewhere along the line it became... Well Freakazoid.
Disney's Atlantis the Lost Empire takes a lot of cues from comic books for it's aesthetic, Vic Mignola of Hellboy fame even contributed to it. In addition, the movie was actually a VERY souped up pilot for a TV show. Sadly the movie wasn't well recieved enough to get a greenlight so we only got the direct to movie sequel that was supposed to kick off the TV series.
The show Hey Arnold was actually supposed to have a second movie, involved the characters going to the south Americas to hunt for Arnold's parents. The show was also supposed to have a sequel, The Pataki's which revolved around an older Helga who actually did eventually have a relationship with Arnold(they break up before the series start but are still friends) and who had moved from the city of the original show. It would focus on her dysfunctional family(perfectionist sister, overbearing and almost emotionally abusive father, and her Mom going to AA), it was never made as Nick thought it was too dark, MTV almost picked it up but decided not to. Thought it was too similar to Daria.
And... I think that is all. Pardon, I love this stuff.

From his autobiography: The cartoon trope of exploding firecrackers/sticks of dynamite was based on a real guy who would sell hot dogs and sodas out of his desk (lined with aluminum foil) where Chuck Jones worked. People on upper floors would lower money and food orders out the window using a basket on a string. The guy would fill the order and they would start hauling it up. People on the in-between floors found out and would try and snatch the basket using a hook, so the guy would yank the basket back down, replace the food with a firecracker that had a long fuse, light it, and let it go. Only one I know is for Final Fantasy: Advent Children. One of the villains, Loz I think (don't kill me if I'm wrong), had a special program made as he has scenes where he accelerates to a high speed. However, they couldn't get him to move fast enough at the normal max acceleration so they slowed down all the other things that went on and sped the whole scene to make it appear he moved really fast.
Oh, also, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within main character Aki Ross was the first fictional character to become an "it girl" (whatever that is) as well as being voted into Maxim's top 100 hottest women. I will admit to not knowing whether that was listed with other fictional characters or not.

They (apparently) use a group of the same ~20 voice actors for every anime dub. Seriously, name any 2 (reasonably known) shows that dont have atleast 1-3 people in common.
