Can you guys recommend me some good Anime? I just went through about fifty shows on a streaming site and about 95% were henati. Please help, or else I might be bored for a short while, and that would be awful.

(Yes, you can to drone about how awesome your favorite Anime is to someone, you're welcome.)

Not really helping when you don't tell us exactly what you've seen, but here's the basics:

Death Note; first half is as good as it gets. Wonderful anime.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood; as far as I'm concerned, it's better than the original FMA. It's not completely finished yet, but it's damned good.

Neon Genesis Evangelion; my favorite anime by far. It's not for everyone, but it's wonderful.(Gotta watch 'End of Evangelion' after finishing the anime if you want the full experience.)

I already got past the interesting part of deathnote. I didn't like FMA. I'll try that last one.

The manga is always better. Blah, blah, blah.

The second half simply felt like it was trying to emulate L and it did a bad job. It was OK, but it wasn't as good.

I'm assuming your talking about Deathnote in your response...

I will agree with Aby that in the second half of the series (once Near is introduced), I lost a little interest. Mello kept me in it though, and it picked back up.

As far as the anime/manga argument goes, all I'm saying is... The anime ending was much better than the manga.

Yes cause thats exatcly what i sound like thank you for the reminder. I wasint trashing on the anime its one of more faithful animes with the source materail. The ending in the anime is crap tho i'll admit that :p.

Also i know we all miss L the dude was the greatest detective that ever lived and ever will leave he just got cheated. The second half is still intence in its own right but i agree no one will never compare to the greatest detective to ever live... L.

I respectfully disagree. The ending of the magna really showed lights true colours and just it was very strong. The anime made him just i dunno the anime was great but the ending was just horrendus.

I didn't mean to insult you, just the general statement. It's like all books are better than the movie version; it's endlessly repeated.

And yes, the second half was OK, but just not as good at all. Mello's 'tick' was far too lame for me. Oh look, I'm eating chocolate! Wooo...

The reason I thought the anime ending was better was because it let Light end with his dignity, whereas the manga made him out to be a coward I think. Throughout the whole thing, I was a Kira supporter, and seeing Light grovel at Ryuk's feet just wasn't as satisfying as seeing Light manage to stay strong and true to what he was trying to accomplish throughout the whole series. He went down with honor; with dignity. The ending to the manga, while still really damn good, just didn't elicit the same emotional response out of me as the anime did.

Well... Here's the summary from Wikipedia.

The story follows the title character, Haruhi Suzumiya, a high school girl who can unconsciously change reality, and her strange antics with her school club, the SOS Brigade, which she founded to investigate any mysterious happenings. Haruhi forcibly drafts her cynical classmate Kyon who narrates the series, and similarly recruits three additional members into her club: the silent bibliophile Yuki Nagato, the shy and timid Mikuru Asahina, and the friendly "mysterious exchange student" Itsuki Koizumi. These members soon reveal themselves to Kyon as the extraordinary characters Haruhi is seeking, sent by their various organizations to observe her and hold her reality warping powers in check by maintaining the illusion of a normal life.
