Ditto to this. The dude is basically saying that these sites should be blocked because they encourage bad behaviour, disseminate questionable material, and act as launch pads for harassment. So in response they pile goatsies into his inbox?Crazy_Bird said:Well, while I get a few laughs out of this way of protest I think it is the wrong signal.
I mean doesn't it proofs the fascist government right? Aren't we gamers hackers with criminal intents? They will that use totally for propaganda and it is hard to justify this act against non-gamers. Non-gamers will see it as it is a crime probably done because of the wish to play violent video games. Do not worry they will spin it that way.
Hence I think this action did more harm than any good.
This was almost nothing to do with gamers. A bunch of trolls protesting the idea of a ridiculous amount of censorship. But I've always enjoyed the 4chan raids. Like the Habbo ones. They're always such fun. And how was this hacking? If you're just saying that the gov. will try to spin it this way, fair enough. But even then I doubt it. Probably just some crap about how "this is why we must censor freedom!"Crazy_Bird said:Well, while I get a few laughs out of this way of protest I think it is the wrong signal.

I agree with you and I am totally aware that this is only slightly related to video games.brunothepig said:This was almost nothing to do with gamers. A bunch of trolls protesting the idea of a ridiculous amount of censorship.
Exactly.Crazy_Bird said:Well, while I get a few laughs out of this way of protest I think it is the wrong signal.

Exactly. If people worldwide get a hold of this, the sites could go down for a long time.NameIsRobertPaulson said:I would be very afraid if I were Rudd. The boys and... well boys in white masks have done some scary stuff (they got their creator named as time magazine's "person of the year"). They could crash the site for weeks if they wanted.
Think that was only in South Australia...and i thought they changed it nearly as soon as it happenedSimalacrum said:Good on Anonymous. Australian censorship of media is really getting way too far, not just with games, but with other media like film too (18+ rated films no longer allowed to be displayed in store shelves, for example.
