More kudos to Anon ^^.
I think they have really stirred up the full power of the internet warhorse and I want to see Anon resoundedly win and put the limiters in their place. Some degree of organisation is useful but locking down things like they have been attempting recently is just too far.

Props to them for doing this. I can't imagine too many people wanting to fuck with the CIA.

The internet was built to withstand a nuclear attack, it can't be policed. That said, the police are at liberty to arrest people they find connected, and without any real laws, these people can be put away for a long time.

Most importantly though, STOP CREATING THREADS ON THESE FOOLS. Stop encouraging that shit, would you rather smart people decided what's best, or idiots with no sense of the real world and who almost certainly suffer from Online Disinhibition Effect? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_disinhibition_effect
I for one like reading threads about them because it's interesting news as opposed to the news we're getting here in Ireland: "Banks blah blah... Brian Cowen blah blah... Bailout blah and IMF blah blah blah..." It gets old after a while and I think a few months constitutes as a while.

More food for thought. If you honestly believe these Anonymous jerks aren't hurting innocent people, kindly look at this website: http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/victim_assistance

That portion of the website is devoted to providing information to help victims of federal crimes, such as child pornography. It also provides a listing of FBI offices where you can contact what they call "Victim Specialists." Now suppose you were a victim of a federal crime and you were looking for help. Oops! FBI's website's down, gosh, what now?

"But it wasn't down that long!" you say.

And? A victim might just give up on seeking help if they saw the website was down, especially if they're suffering depression due to whatever crime was committed upon them, and they might not check again later.

"They can find all of this information by other means!" you say.

Yes, but I'd wager that most Anonymous supporters are also piracy advocates, so they of all people ought to know that one of the benefits of the Internet is that it makes it easier to obtain information. This website, as I just explained, makes it extremely easy for a victim to find information and locate someone who can help them, and that can make a difference if a victim is trying to decide whether or not he or she wants help or just wants to try and suppress it all.

As I said, Anonymous is just a gang of anarchists. They're so disconnected from reality that they're incapable of seeing the harm they are doing to others, and even if they were aware they'd probably just have a good "lul" about it.

It is specifically for this reason that it is in the interest of the bodies involved to adjust their manner. Just like a strike, if it doesn't inconvienence then it will NOT work. As best I know Anon are not tampering with actual information on these sites, so it is not affecting the actual true running of the system (desinged to help and protect people), they are however effectively halting their use, which is what any good strike will do, and just like a strike the FBI could easily re-route the flow to a temp page so those who need it can use it.
Yes it is a bit bad, but how many targets of importance do you think they would have if they avoided anything like this? Anything providing information and services for people would be out and then there would be no effect at shutting the systems down.

I still say march on Anon, if all involved are wise they will take the needed action to resolve the matter asap and avoid a repeat. If Anon get bitchy at that point and do not stop when it is reasonable to do so then I will say they are just troublemakers.

They should stop bothering lives of those people who don't want to have anything to do with this. And they should stop making more enemies to them selfs.

Whats the odds Moot disappears and 4chan is pulled apart?
Moot is not behind this, you know.
What is "Moot"? Who is "Moot"? I think I've seen a couple of threads on /b/ with this guy and they were about "Moot", but what/who exactly is it?

And yes, 4chan/the responsible Anons have a big f-ing problem now. The internet works both ways: if you can hack websites, the feds sure as hell can, too, let alone FIND you.

mfG diebane
Moot is the creator of 4chan, his real name is Christopher Poole.

[/spoiler]

...And anon does NOT have a website, because its hardly a group, there are no forums dedicated to raids, its just some user (never the same guy who starts these raids) who makes a picture about "operation something" and then a number of people who see the picture take part in DDoS'ing a server or a website.

If the FBI (or just people in general) thinks that this is some clearly-drawn battlefield where one website DDoS another, they're wrong.

FUCKING RETARDS is all I can say. Clearly people bringing down Mastercard have no clue how anything works. For one thing, it is Mastercards business who they want to do business for, or who they associate with. If you ran a bakery and a disruptive crazy guy came in, you could deny to serve him bread and kick his ass out.
Secondly, what they are achieving is exactly counter to what they want to accomplish. Actions like this will do absolutely nothing but cause more censorship, and more stringent monitoring of internet activities.
I say it again: FUCKING...RETARDS.

Anoymous, you guys are doing all right... kinda... sorta

The governemnt is turing back to clock a century with wikileaks, they are trying to control one of the last great frontiers of freedom, they same way they used to with magazines and newspapers in days of yester year. They are hinding behind this "National Security" bullshit, the same way the stood behind hte "Communist" bullshit fifty years ago (and to a lesser extent right now). To that i say: FUCK YOU. The internet should be free those who would see it controlled, regulated, and who would continue to see the backroom dealings of htier masters kept secret. This is a fight that we can win through competely peaceful means and will, if we win, garuntee at least or a while that our governments are reminded of one simple fact "PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF THEIR GOVERNMENTS, GOVERNMENTS SHOULD BE AFRAID OF THIER PEOPLE."

So, to Anyomous, i say: Target and Fire! But please make sure you watch your aim, you don't need EVERYONE standing against you. To those who stand againt Wikileaks: You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout i'm telling you why: you brought this on yourselves.

BTW, People who simply have the opinion the Wikileaks is bad are fine. it is countries like Britain, who are calling for Asange's murder, that are the real enemies here.

And you wanna know the worst part, even while writing this i wanted to use stronger language. But i am afraid to, casue there is a little part of my brain that says "They might be watching." Paranoid i know, but the fact it is there is pretty damn scary.

One thing I'd like to see is Anonymous doing something besides, you know, ddos attacks. Like, delete critical information. Or at least try to do that.
Like this? http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Embassy
Someone else got the information for them, someone not associated with anonymous. Don't think that really counts.

They just made a lot of powerful enemies.

Seriously though, people overestimate anon waaaay to much. If the USA went ahead and classified them as a "terrorist cell" (which they are) then a few thousand arrests later all the angry teenagers and hackers would learn a hard lesson in reality.
How are they a terrorist cell? Who have they killed?

Would I rather that people who I don't agree with and have little to no understanding of internet policy, as well as openly being bought by major corporations to get elected make decisions for me, or anonymous? Not a hard decision, bro.
I ain't saying the government should take over (especially not an American government), but the targets by Anonymous aren't just government, and aren't uniform... they aren't a political protest group, or a terrorist group, it's a bunch of kids who have massive arrogance issues. Fucking with Mastercard? Great, that's people's money, personal information and lives that you're fucking with. Fucking with Sceintology? That's free will you're fucking with, and while I hate Scientology, I heard Americans and the west in general are big on this "free will" stuff. Fucking with the CIA? That's Americans safety you are fucking with, because no matter what you heard in a Hollywood film, that is their REAL job. ALL of this is basically because they can't get shit for free, or don't like the laws an rules that make your country what it is. It's a bunch of fuckwits who are throwing their toys out of their pram, and I say ignore them, or arrest anyone who does it. The internet is a potentially dangerous tool, and while Anonymous are the danger equivalent of graffiti, this is the perfect time to nip it in the bud.

More importantly, this site should stop talking about it, as it's boring, pathetic, and will probably eventually get some people on here fucked by association

Hm, interesting. Might be a little risky, but just bringing down a site is not that bad. Overall i agree with them, but i'm not sure this will accomplish anything.

Terrorists do not necessarily need to kill, they need only to create fear to terrorize and you know what I bet you that there are people out there who are worried, afraid because Mastercard went down because Visa went down, because 10,000 card numbers were possibly (I say possibly because all I have to go on is the youtube video in this post) leaked. Anyone who terrorizes is a terrorist, this does not necessitate murder and death.
