i miss the old voice they used. had a bit more weight to it.
also if they can take down fox let them do it, maybe the collective I.Q. here in the U.S. can start to recover.

SO Anon is standing up for the right to free speech and having a voice by shutting down Fox, the voice of conservative republicans.

yeah, thats not counteractive to what they pretend to stand for or anything.

But isn't annon for freedom of speech??? And isn't Fox exercising that freedom of speech???
Free Speech doesn't protect against slander/libel, incitement to violence, and certain other things.

Or about 85% of the stuff that comes out of their commentary team's mouths. ;)

I know you were probably tryign to be "funny," just saying.
How do you know what Fox is saying about the protestors is not true? Some of them could be "...filthy, disgusting and dirty...". In fact, I would bet my life that some are "...filthy, disgusting and dirty...".

And no I'm not trying to be funny. I'm saying that Annon can't even respect its own motivations.

Yeah, just like that time they said they would bring down the Iranian government, and it totally worked and now Iran is the 51st American State!

Oh wait.

I want to see this happen. Maybe after they fail this hard they'll start acting in a way that actually makes 'hacktivism' work.

People still care about Fox News? Seriously? I'm moderately conservative and I've written them off as a bunch of psychos.

You're right. We have to go deeper.

OT: I don't like FOX, but I'm on their side on this one. Sorry, Anon.

Probably Anon is just a bunch of IT security experts trying to get firms paranoid enough to tighten security and hire new staff. So that the guys from Anon get more job offers and a decent wage for a change...
No. If you ever knew IT people, you would know that we're a lazy breed. ;p
Yeah, but programmers are even worse than us. They get the excuse that their code is compiling. What excuse do we have? The networks are secure and all the workstations are running perfectly? Yeah, I doubt our bosses will buy that.

OT: As much as I hate Fox News, I really have to cite the first amendment for this issue. Anon really doesn't have the right to impede upon what Fox is saying, no matter how righteous I think this cause is.

I fail to see the point of it. So they take down their website for afew hrs...So what? The computer equivalent of tagging the side of a building.

You want to impress someone? Take down the Fox TV channel itself. Serious, you really want to make an impression, kill the broadcast itself.

I'm no fan of Fox news, but anon (and anyone else) shouldn't be taking actions that do Fox's spin doctor work for them. At the very least don't bring down the site as much as rerout visitors to the daily show's many many many bits exposing Fox's double standard between Liberals and Conservatives.

Am I the only one who's grown weary of Anonymous as a whole? Ooooh, they're gonna shut your whatever down, sooooo scary, no one is safe, they're the defenders of free speech...

They're just a bunch of bored hackers. No matter the intentions, illegal is illegal. I'm sure if Dr. King could get people to do things the legal way, they can too.

God I hate Anon.
History fail. One of the major tactics King promoted was Civil Disobedience. He advocated the (peaceful) violation of laws he believed to be unjust. It was a tactic inspired by Ghandi, who willingly broke laws he considered to be wrong, admitted to breaking the law in court, but said he did so because the laws themselves were evil.

Laws are not magically good just because they are laws. Laws can be written by evil or stupid people, and therefore can be evil or stupid themselves. Therefore, breaking the law is not an inherently immoral act.

so, the same group who is supporting another group expressing their views, is threatening to attack another group for expressing their opinions. Anon is a bunch of fucking hypocrits.

And why target just Fox over this contrived shit? Why not attack other news channels for doing the same thing? oh i'm sorry, i forgot they have opposing political views with the general retarded internet goers.

also, the wall street protesters....not worth defending in all honesty.

To be honest, I haven't agreed with everything Anon has done, but I have NEVER agreed with Fox News. I personally love how Jon Stewart bashes them almost every night.

Fox News needs to get taken down a peg from it's incredibly Conservatism biased and bad fact-finding throne. Go for it Anon.

Remember, Remember, The Fifth of November.

those laws weren't damaging to property and were for equality instead of infringing on OTHERS freedom of speech like the hypocrites they are. also taking down another's website is a federal offense.
