Shadow hearts (the FIRST one)

THE best jrpg ever created alongside FF7.
The main character is BAD-ASS, the fighting system is good old turn-based. Its challenging, amazing dark and gritty story. Great side-quests.
You forgot the awesome humour but I don't understand why you cannot recommend the second? But then you mentioned FF7 >_> Can't forgive that.
Because with the second came all the akwardness and kiddy characters.
Also, magic was nurfed down majorly. Ability up magic was the ONLY magic one ever had to use. There was no point using magic users really...
Story was also a bit meehh..
It was too easy...

It was allright, but not a must, and for allot of people it ruins the first one, including allot of my friends. I liked it, but it was only because I got a naustalgic feeling while playing it..

Don't even touch the Third one.. Trust me..

I repeat myself: You liked FF7 - the only game ever I didn't even finish because of the characters. I was told the third one was pretty good, and I believe it's far superior than it's reputation.
Also, I will never get how a sequel can "ruin the original". Just ignore the sequel. Like Capcom does with Devil May Cry 2.

not gonna comment on FF7, just....no..

SH3 is NOT good. I don't know who tolled you this, but they cannot tell a good/bad jrpg when they see one.
It was EXTREMELY immature, WAY,way too easy, and had a very predictable and allot less engaging story that the other two. (ALSO,1:it didn't have Yuri. 2: it had a main character who was a little blond boy... )

SH2 is not horrible, (I) enjoyed playing it, but only because I loved the first game so much, so I managed to look past the flaws (of which there are allot of in bouth of them) to finish Yuris story. I didn't recommend the 2nd MAINLY because, well, You have to play the first one...first.. Also because allot of people can't look past the flaws and how different it is from the first.
