A man is trying to sleep, but can't so he gets up and calls someone on the phone. A voice on the other end says, "Hello?" and then the man (who is calling) hangs up. The man goes back to bed and finally goes to sleep.

Who did he call and why?
Hint(a fairly big one I might add, but this is supposed to be more of a 20 questions riddle):
The man doesn't know the identity of the person who picks up the phone, but has called that person specifically.

Since the original question has been answered, around 300 times I'll just start off with one.

It can blind a man
it can make blind a see.

Quote me with your answer and I'll tell you if you are correct.

A simple one.. Steve goes to the petrol station as his car is nearly empty of fuel. On a full tank his car normally does 400 miles. He fills the tank till it's full and sets off again. However after only 200 yards the car runs out of petrol and stops. Why?
He fills the tank with water or some other non fule substance
The tank he fills is not the one leading to his car's engine
His car explodes and rolls 200 yards before the flames consume the last of the petrol

My riddle (more of a logic question):

A monastery is filled with 100 perfectly logical monks.
These monks are sworn to silence and can not communicate with each other in any way.
Once a day all the monks eat in a communal dining area where they are seen and can see all other monks.
On the same night all the monks receive a holy vision that monks marked with a certain symbol on the back of their head must silently commit suicide in at the stroke of midnight in order to attain enlightenment.
The next day 51 monks awake with the symbol magically appearing on their head. Each monk does not know if they have the symbol on their head, however can see weather or not each of the other 99 monks has the symbol or not. Also each monk don't know the total number of monks that were given the symbol. They do know that all their fellow monks think exactly as they do.
Assuming no reflective surfaces in the monastery and no breaking their vows of silence, on which night do all the marked monks commit suicide? And Why?
The next night. The stroke of midnight is the start of the next day.

Otherwise there is a bunch of logic about hats and such, but 'sif you wouldn't think "screw it im going to be enlightened" and off yourself.

Time.
Ok you drive a plane from New York to LA. You stop in St. Louis for gas, and land in Las Vegas for the people gettng off there. You average a height of 16,000 feet. It takes 2 hours to get to St. Louis and from there 5 hours to get to Las Vegas. Who is driving the plane?

'you'

Honestly, stop with these puzzles if you are going to write the answer inside them.

And a last one and to recap the ones from me yet to be answered.

1.My habitation's in a wood,
And I'm at anyone's command.
I often do more harm than good;
If once I get the upper hand.
I never fear a champion's frown;
Stout things I often times have done;
Brave soldiers, I can fell them down,
I never fear their sword or gun.
I believe noone's got this one yet (as far as I know). Fire

Looks like one of mine is still unsolved.

Hoever, here is also a new one. Quite easy.

I am free for the taking through all of your life,
though given but once at birth.
I am less than nothing in weight,
but will fell the strongest of you if held.

EDIT: Also, I seem to remember this one from a good old game...

Many keys I have but usually only two to three locks. What am I?"

That is actually wrong, though good guess.

I doesn't exactly fit with the 'I'm at anyone's command' now does it? And fire does not habitate wood, it eats and consumes it. Also, a champion would quickly find a way to defeat fire.

A wine barrel.

Well done! An acceptable answer, though 'a barrel of beer' more specifically was what I was looking for.

there are four guys siting in four chairs facing a wall
each one of them can only see the wall or the guy(s) in front of them up to the wall
(from L to R, guy 1 sees the wall, 2 sees the wall, 3 sees 1 and the wall and 4 sees 3,2 and the wall)
each one has a red or blue hat, from left to right R,B,R,B
none of the can see their own hat
they cant speak or comunicate to each other
they know there are 2 blue hats and 2 red hats

how can ANY of them know what color is their own hat.

One-- this mysterious 'I' fellow.

If a tree falls in a forest, and no-one's around to hear it, and it hits a mime, does anybody care?

It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
The dark. Not sure if anyone's answered it or not.
