As for the boycott, if you really want to get EA angry, make sure you send them a letter indicating the reason for your boycott, and include the information that you've taken all your EA games and traded them in, adding them to the preowned market :D

EA could score a few points with gamers after that'most evil company ever' award they got by simply replying to every email recieved with a stock reply linking them to a protest pushing Congress to ban all homosexuality in video games. I can't remember the exact link but it something about lemons and a party. I don't know what the lemons had to do it with but it must be a Republican party, right? :)

(NSFW, really, don't go googling things you don't know :D )

Honestly, maybe we can just a new icon to add the ones for violence, sexual content, drug use, and swearing. 'May contain allusions to/direct references to/fully explicit bumming'.

Also, they're all up in arms about homosexuality, but they're absolutely fine with interspecies sex? Doesn't that blow their 'gay marriage will lead to men marrying dogs' strawman out of the water? Seems they're absolutely fine with bestiality, it's just the gays they fear.

Alright then- Family values nutters, time for a Lesson in the economy.

When you DO NOT BUY THE PRODUCT TO BEGIN WITH you cannot boycott it. If i disagreed with the giant pink dildo company, i cannot boycott them because i do not buy the products. Similarly if you do not buy games you cannot boycott them.
I think they're trying to rope people who MIGHT buy it into not buying it. Which is even funnier.

In any event, not half bad for the most reviled company in America. Nice job, whiners!
I didn't vote for them.
Didn't say you did. The line break was there to differentiate my intentions (the first one WAS to you, the second was to the boards in general).

I am boycotting CoD games because I believe they are banal. I have played them before. I have no intention to play or buy any game like it again. I am a gamer who is within the marketing range. I am statistically the person they sell to most. I don't care if I can't change the industry with this or not. This is a personal boycott. They will never get my money.
I thought it can only be a boycott only if you want the product, but refuse to buy it / take it because you don't want to support the company or the behaviour that is behind the product. For instance people boycotted Nestle's products not because they were bad, but because of their advertisements in Africa.

Edit: Because of the past comments I feel I need to emphasise that I do NOT think that being a prior customer is necessary for boycotting. Just that you've made a conscious choice to not buy the product because you don't want to support their business practices, not simply because you don't find the product good.

The business practices are part of it as well. But most boycotts are just "I won't buy this because" and it's open from their. If CoD got amazing I'm sure I would buy the next one. I'm still gaming, just not with CoD. So they are technically losing money off me. A small minuscule amount in the whole of it but still losing some.
For the sake of clarity I need to state that I'm not saying that you're doing something wrong. It doesn't matter how much weight your actions carry, as a consumer you're supposed to avoid purchases that don't make you comfortable no matter the reason.

The pope and so-called "christians" are exactly what Jesus came to destroy. They have become the true enemy of all that is loving and decent. Also, anyone who still does not get the fact that millions of people are born with a homosexual orientation are really just too stupid, stubborn and/or hateful to reason with. Get on with it already and EVOLVE.
