Deadpool is considered an anti hero.
Don't know why...Since Deadpool is actually mentally disturbed.

Not necessarily. The way I'd define an anti-hero is typically one that does heroic actions in their own self-interest and are too in-touch with reality to see things in black-and-white terms, and as such, tend to be very cynical because the world around them is depicted as ignorant and self-absorbed, which could either be a lazy excuse on the writer's behalf to justify their cynicism, or just the way the character perceives them. If you ask me, cynicism and a snarky attitude don't equate to dickishness unless their self-serving actions come at the expense of others.

I wouldn't really think of Deadpool as a dick. He's a complete and utter smart ass, but not THAT bad of a guy.
Not that bad of a guy?? He suckerpunches women to piss people off, uses civilians as hostages, murders people for money (or just for fun, or because they annoy him, or because...) CONSTANTLY and has doen tons of other evil stuff (like steal pies!). Anything heroic he does is incidental at best.

Anti-heroes who aren't complete wankers are just called "heroes".
I disagree.
Heroes can be dicks too.

Well for most people just makes an easier anti hero to make without having to develop their character or justify their coniditions anti hero outlook.

Artemis Fowl. Started off as the villain, and now is as close to an anti-hero as one can get with out being a liberal.

Is it just me or are most anti-heros dicks?

The majority of them I come across (not just in video games but other mediums too) seem like conceited wankers, ie alex mercer from prototype and alex delarge from clockwork orange. I know those aren't the best examples but they were the first ones that came to mind lol. Are there any anti-heros out there that are likable or that one can still relate with? What's your opinion?

Discuss away...
True, most Anti heroes are douches, but what else do you have to work with? The general opposite of that is... well a hero... Someone who cares... as opposed to not caring...

Wait I got it. You could have an anti hero who's indifferent... I suppose... He just kind of goes with the flow, not really caring about the outcome...

i guess thats mostly true, but i dont see why they ALL need to be made out as such douchebags. we're all human after all. i just think there should be more anti-heros out there with a little bit more empathy or character to them.
Raoul Duke.

yeah thats what most people have said. dont get me wrong, there are certainly anti-heros ive come across who i have liked. im just asking if they can be more than what they are, if that makes sense? lol... an indifferent anti-hero isnt a bad idea actually

the creators of these mediums don't want you to empathise with the anti-heros, you're supposed to hate them and want them to lose so that your empathy for the hero is even stronger.

I know its not jamful of character, but I always thought Marcus Fenix was a good anti-hero, the only thing you can like about him is that "he's doing it for the greater good" Plus he's a fucking badass...
