I speak and write fluently in English and French, although my French vocabulary is somewhat lacking since I have less and less call to use it since I've stopped working in the French section of town. Also, a little bit of Japanese after several attempts at learning through classes, although never much beyond the basics. Wakari masu? Wakari masen.

I can speak English and Spanish. That's about it. I learned German in high school, but I forgot all of it. One of these days, I think I might take up Italian.

I did French for a few years to A grade, but I cant remember much, and German for a couple of years to babout the same, so I can spout random useless sentences in those languages with varying degrees of success, and my first language is English, which I like so much I've become a grammar Nazi

Yes, english, irish and german, does that make me trilingual?
"Irish" is not a language
I studied it for 13 years at school and its officialy the first language of my country, i'm pretty sure it's a language.
And it's ony "Gaeilge" if you're speaking AS Gaeilge.

Swedish as a first language, English as a second and I also know some basic Spanish after being forced to learn it towards the end of grade school. Trilingual?

I'm Dutch, which obviously makes Dutch my primary language. English is my second language, which I can speak fluently. I can also speak a little bit French and German. That's pretty much it.

I lived in New Brunswick for most of my younger life and was as such put in to French immersion in school. So, in other words, I'm bilingual with English as my first language and (somewhat broken) French as my second.
