Sorry if this thread has been done to death, but I was just wondering what languages my fellow Escapists speak.

Seeing that the Escapist is pretty diverse in the amount of people from around the world that frequent the site, I figure that this thread would be a cool idea.

Hell, feel free to answer the question in a different language, I have Google translator on a different tab.

I myself am fluent in German (well, I was fluent two years ago :p) and obviously English is my primary language.

I kinda wanna learn Russian, or maybe Spanish would be a good idea seeing as it's my country's second language.

Anyways, let the thread commence!

I only know English, but I'm going to have to start taking a foreign language in school.

I don't know what it will be, probably German.

Well, Russian is my first language, and English is the second. I've also tried to learn German so i could scare people better, but this effort got delayed.

I speak a little french, a little Spanish, a little Italian. To be honest I don't like any of them.

I'm currently learning Japanese an I'm trying to become fluent. Japanese is an epic language!

Primary language: English

Secondary: Some French. I could speak with someone in it, but it would be difficult for them to completely understand me. :p

English is my first language, but I'm quite good at French. Not fluent, mind.
I have a bit of Irish too.

So I guess not.

It's fucking hard if you don't always use it. Learn about 1000-1500 kanji. Then you're good to go. You probably won't need to learn all 5000 of them though.
I'm not on reading and writing yet. I'm finding it hard enough as it is!

I can speak: Russian, Finnish and English fluently. But, Swedish and German less than fluently.

I guess that means I'm Trilingual too then.

Romanian - native, I don't dislike it but its not my favorite either

English - probably my favorite and I also am more or less as good at it as I am at my native language

Italian - Not very good but I can hold an ok..ish conversation, I've only been learning it for about a year so I have a lot to learn yet ( especially since its not my cup of tea, none of the latin languages are really .. which is funny since my own is latin based as well )

French - I vaguely remember one or two dozen words, learned it for 4 years in school but then for 8 years since then I've yet to actually speak it once, so naturally I forgot most of what I knew

Want to learn Japanese since it is different then most and yet surprisingly familiar, actually started learning it about 1-2 years ago but kinda had to give up since I had other stuff on my mind and occupying my time at that point.

English is my first language, and we had the option of Irish (bleeeh), French or Spanish for secondary school (high school). I chose Spanish, and I am now pretty good with it. Not fluent, mind, but it's something I want to become fluent in.

I could understand Buzz in Spanish mode without the subtitles, felt awesome :D
