Any forgotten or obscure games that would make great reboots or sequels for this gen.

Banjo-Kazooie. Sure, there was a sequel recently, but it sucked. Give me a proper one plox.
you sir are defently right I "wasted" most of my childhood playing that game.Even though MGS1 isn't forgotten I would love a remake for that (the one for the gamecube sucked compared to it).

Contra, with the popularity of shooters and the nostalgia of the game it would do really well I think. Not obscure but kind of surprising that there hasn't already been a reboot.

What sucked about it, it just had updated graphics and better directed voice acting, as far as i know the only negative change is gray foxes voice was a different actor.

War of the Monsters ^_^

Imagine a fully destructable city where your a giant monster and can use ANYTHING as a weapon.
That was, hands down the most fun I had on a PS2 since I played the original time-splitters

On that note..A new Star Wars Battle-Front and a new War Of The Monsters ¬¬

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Alien Legacy, damn that game was epic, it was a combination of sim city and planetary exploration, it had something vaugly similar to the mass effect planet scanner but 100 times more interesting since everytime you found something you got a neat lil science blurb that gave you a real feeling of exploration even if it didnt have the graphical power to back it up

here is a vid

Earthbound/Mother. In fact, I'd be happy if they just released Mother 1 and Mother 3 in English. I mean, come on, the amount of JRPG games that are out these days that are so samey. It'd be a breath of fresh air.

Incredible Crisis or Bushido Blade. I'd also like to see some FMV games return, Supreme Warrior, Psychic Detective.

Carmageddon. But I think that the wholesale massacre of pedestrians might not sit well with modern publishers. Danm you, political correctness.
Just make them all Zombies, that'll get it past the censors.

Hmmm... Cant say really, a lot of my favorite old games haven't aged well.

That and there's not really much I played as a kid that hasn't already been remade dozens of times.

Thanks Nintendo.

The Toca Race Driver series, the Stuntman series and a lot of other racing games.
Oh, and, of course, Age Of Empires. Not obscure, but, hey, I fucking want it back.
Half the games you have listed here have had next gen remakes. I own Stuntman myself, and TOCA 3 is pretty recent.
I didn't say they hadn't had any next-gen installments. The fact is, the series I listed are all dead (or at least the formula has been totally changed - looking at you, GRID) and I think they should get a reboot.
Isn't this what this topic is about, reboots?

Mischief Makers (Yuke! Yuke! Troublemakers). I think it was only for the N64 in terms of systems people actually played enough to get attention. It was a weird, highly Japanese story that worked for Western audiences just as well as the Eastern crowd.
